Lesson idea implementation:
Students will choose a fable from a list of short stories that were read in class and record a podcast
where they recount the moral of the story and explain what the character(s) should have done
instead.

understandings and ideas. There will be a time limit for how long the response should be (up to 1.5
minutes).
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: This lesson allows for students to communicate
their ideas in a verbal way. This can be beneficial for students who have a hard time writing what
they are thinking. Also, as second graders, they are still learning how to write their thoughts.
Reflection: This lesson will teach the students how to recall a story and expand on ideas. I am most
looking forward to hearing what solutions they would give the character(s) of the story.
