Mechanical Comments:-
Action Code: (C) Revise and Submit:-
 For electric drive Horizontal fire pumps technical specification and compliance (Section
13921):-
1. For your compliance to clause 1.5-C (product certificate):- Manufacturer test certificate for fire
pump, fire pump controller, pressure maintenance pump and pressure maintenance pump controller
to be submitted as you complied.
2. Your compliance to clause 1.6-E (electrical components) is not accepted, all pumps motors &
controllers shall be complied with this clause.
3. Your reply to item 2.8-A-4 & 5 can be accepted provided that the system pipe size equal to pump
suction and discharge seizes.
4. Your reply to item 2.8-A-6 & 7 is not accepted, test header manifold and hose valve shall be
provided as specified.
5. Your reply to item 2.8-A-9 is not accepted, ball drip valve shall be provided as specified.
6. List of spare parts to be provided.
7. The compliance for all missing clauses to be provided even if it will be contactor scope of work.
8. The contactor should confirm his compliance to all items quoted "By Contactor" in the supplier
compliance statement.

 Foe the firefighting hydraulic calculation:-

1. Maximum allowable velocity shall be 20ft/sec.
2. Node elevations for nodes 230, 240 and 260 to be corrected to 132ft (as per the submitted isometric).
3. Minimum residual required at these nodes shall be 100psi.

 For fire pump technical selection:-

A. Electric driven firefighting pump:- (tag:- FP-B3-01) QTY 2 (1+1) (model: 6" 1823HH)
Although the selection point is acceptable the contactor shall note the following:-
a. The selection must show the rated head at 150% of the total rated capacity, it shall not less than
65% of the arted head.
b. The total operating and shipping weight for the selected fire pump to be indicated.
c. The coupling type to be provided, it shall be flexible and capable of absorbing torsional vibration
and shaft misalignment include metal coupling guard as specified.
d. The direction of roattion for the quoted pumps shall be suitable to exact position in shop drawing
and at site.
e. The shop arrangement sketches for pump station according to exact dimension for approved pump
models to be submitted this is essential before commitment to verify that the available allocated
space for pumps is enough for operation and necessary clearances around pumps maintenance as
required by pump manufacturer.
f. The suction and discharge sizes shall be provided in the selection data sheet.
g. The UL/FM certificate of the quoted pump shall be submitted.

h. The UL/FM certificate for the fire pump controller and automatic transfer switch shall be
submitted. The quoted model is not shown in the UL directory.
i. Each fire pump shall have dedicated controller and automatic transfer switch.
j. UL/FM certification for remote alarm panel to be submitted.
k. UL/FM certification for air release valve shall be submitted.
l. The technical selection material specification and UL/FM certification for pressure gauges
to be submitted.
m. The technical selection material specification for circulation relief valve to be submitted.
n. The technical selection material specification and UL/FM certification for Ball Drip Valve
to be submitted.
o. The technical selection material specification for Test Header Manifold to be submitted.
p. The technical selection material specification and UL/FM certification for Hose Valve to be
submitted.
q. The technical selection material specification and UL/FM certification for flow meter to be
submitted.

B. For Jockey Pump:- (tag:- JP-B3-01) QTY 1 (model: PVM (1/X)4-260)

1. The Selected Pump Head (134m) is higher than that specified in the design schedule (127m).
2. We need a computer selection showing the following:-
a. The pump impeller diameter at the selected duty point.
b. The pump efficiency at the selected duty point.
c. The pump motor power input.
3. The supplier shall specify the material of construction for the quoted pump that intended to
provide.
4. The jockey pump head should be calculated as per NFPA 20.
5. The type of starting to be provided in the selection data sheet.
6. The jockey pump accessories according to NFPA 20 requirement shall be submitted.
7. The model technical specification technical catalogue wiring diagrams and type of starting
for jockey pump control panel to be submitted.
8. The UL certificate for the jockey pump controller shall be submitted.

Important Note:-
In addition to missing compliance statements that should be quoted the supplier shall include in his
resubmission a point by point compliance to all comments mentioned her above.
