1 PURPOSES

1.1. This procedure is prepared to provide inland transportation and handling of ducting spool after
fabricated at Dwikappa Workshop to site project. Instruction to be carried out the work
according to the stipulated requirements of the Carbon Adsorption Plant 2 (CAP) Project.

2 SCOPE

2.1. This procedure entails the overall transportation and handling requirements for ducting spool
after fabricated at Dwikappa Workshop.

2.2. The objective is to ensure that proper transportation and handling of ducting spool fabricated is
kept in good condition throughout all phases of the project

4 RESPONSIBILITY

4.1. Construction/fabrication supervisor is responsible for carrying out this procedure accordingly.

4.2. Material supervisor is responsible for carrying out this procedure accordingly.

4.3 QAQC is responsible for implementing this procedure.

5 PROCEDURE

5.1 Ducting spool final inspection before delivery to site project

5.1.1. Final inspection shall be accepted by QC before delivery to site project.

5.1.2. The construction/fabrication supervisor shall be responsible for the transportation and
handling to site project.

5.1.3. The completeness parts of ducting spool shall be included in delivery to site project.

5.1.4. Put proper marking on the ducting spool base on installation sequences at site
fabrication.

5.2 Handling

5.2.1. Carry out a risk assessment on the potential hazards that would be associated with
the operations, including health hazards.

5.2.2. All materials shipped with protective covers and shall be treated as follows upon
arrival at site project.

5.2.3. Handling

5.2.3.1 Ducting spool shall be handled carefully during offload to prevent any
damage, and use proper tools and equipment’s.

5.2.3.2 Always use mechanical equipment in place of manual handling as far as


possible.
5.2.3.3 All relevant persons shall be trained in the proper methods of lifting and
carrying, such as certified crane operator and rigger.

5.2.3.4 Always use proper protective equipment such as gloves, safety shoes, etc.

5.2.3.5 Avoid using carbon steel sling to lift the ducting spool by direct contact to
the stainless-steel ducting spool. Instead, use a webbing sling to lift the
ducting spool by carrying method.

5.3 In Land Transportation

5.3.1. Transportation ducting spool from Dwikappa Workshop to site project will be by
“flatbed truck” with length between 20 feet – 40 feet.

5.3.2. Ducting spool shall be placed on the wooden supports, which shall be securely
fastened to prevent damage during shipment.

5.3.3 Shipped loose ducting spool to be tagged, itemized and registered in "shipped loose
item register". this is to ensure traceability.
