QUESTIONS:
PART 1.
1. What is your thought/idea about a destination event? (should be your own
thoughts.)
What I thought about destination events is achieving a goal of a guest to
experience by creating creative events in a perfect tourist spot that exceeds
their expectations. Also in creating or doing such events it most is relatable to
a meeting or presentations that are being present or planned.
2. How do destination events help tourism? (should be your own thoughts.)
Destination events were a large contribution to help the tourism to have a
guest to and a business that has a performance which is entertainment,
events, recreational activities, and exhibition that kids and adults are enjoying.
Having a destination for tourism does include different activities that a
particular area are containing that have the products and activities that are
being suited in each event destination. Destination events for me are the
most attractive to people that make them wanna explore an event.
3. Provide examples of 2 local destination events (Philippines) and 2
international destination events. Provide a short background of each
destination event. (May use references in here)
LOCAL
 Tacloban Festival
The festival consists of three major activities: (1) Subiran Regatta – a sailboat
race held at the eastern entrance of San Juanico Strait, (2) Balyuan – a
pageant reenacting the historic exchange of images between Basey, Samar
and Tacloban City, and (3) Pintados Festival where participants paint their
bodies and dance to the rhythm of bamboo sticks.
 Salubong -December 29Plaridel, Bulacan
This is procession of dancing women, horses and calesas to fetch the
Santiago Maria Moros from Barangay Sipet.

INTERNATIONAL
 The US Open, New York, NY
One of four Grand Slam tournaments held annually across the world, the US
Open is a grueling tennis championship played on hard courts. For a chance
to watch the greatest tennis talent in the world competing for some high-
stakes prize money and name recognition, all in the bustling metropolis of
New York City, the US Open makes for an enthralling event for spectators.
 Camden Windjammer Festival, Camden, ME
Camden, Maine has a deep maritime history and they keep it alive every
year with the Camden Windjammer Festival. The festival is like stepping into a
time machine to the 1930s, when travel by sea was the main mode of
transportation in the area. They have a huge windjammer fleet, elegant
yachts and sailing ships that adorn their vibrant community. Plus, the seafood
is unbeatable. Stay for the whole weekend for a lobster crab race, a fish relay
race, a build-a-boat contest, a chowder challenge and more.

3. Identify 2 core values that you think are already rooted in you since you
started your college journey with UB and SIHTM. Explain each briefly.
I'm not that confident about myself being rooted in the 2 core values that I
will be choosing and I'm still improving on them. These 2 core values are a
passion for excellence since I want to be good at doing my activities for me
to get a high score and that will lead if I have a dedication in doing my work
done. I am locking as always in these core values but I believe that this
having the passion in dedication in my college journey helps me a lot to
survive every semester.
