group’s box. They are going to guess what is inside the box.

2. clue
3. touch
The team who will guess it right will be the winner.

Note: The students will be given an individual worksheet to meet the needs of the
students specially if there will be difficulties in reading such as
farsighted/nearsighted.
B. Establishing a purpose for the Lucky Me! ( 5 minutes)
lesson The teacher will put random numbers i worksheets given to them. The students
who will get the worksheet with 7 on it will answer the given codes.

C. Presenting examples/ Share it!

instances of the new lesson Share your thoughts on the following questions:
1. Are you familiar with the words that you have formed?
2. Give your own understanding about the given words.
D. Discussing new concepts and The learners will be group into to 2 groups and handouts will be provided for
practicing new skills #1 them to brainstorm in preparation for their debate. The students will be given 3-5
minutes of preparation.

The students will present their arguments based on the handouts and their prior
knowledge about which theory is more acceptable between Theory of
Inheritance of Acquired Characteristics and NEO-DARWINIAN THEORY OR
MODERN SYNTHESIS.

Note: For the students who will not be able to attend to this session/class due to
sickness (cough, fever, etc.) travel/transportation problems, and weather
conditions they will be given a lecture in a printed/digital format.
E. Discussing concepts and How do you think they came up with the different theories?
practicing new skills #2 Fact or Bluff!
1. Geologist use fossil remains to understand different aspects of extinct
and living organisms. Individual fossils may contain information about an
organism’s life and environment. BLUFF (Paleontologist)
2. The behavior of organisms can also be deduced from fossil evidence.
FACT
3. The bone structure of the forelimbs of whales, humans, birds, and dogs
look pretty similar. FACT
4. Snakes descended from lizards. FACT
5. Fish embryos and human embryos both have gill slits. FACT
F. Developing mastery Task:
(Leads to Formative 1- Analyze and explain how evolution happened in the given situation (Analytical
Assessment 3) thinking)
2- Make an artistic poster of how you really believe evolution happened
(ARTWORK)

G. Finding practical application Valuing

of concepts and skills in daily The teacher will remind everyone that “you are unique, you are worthy, you are
living fearfully and wonderfully made. “

abstractions about the lesson I learned that…….

A. By its fighting abilities C. By the ease of its survival
B. By its hunting strategies D. By its abilities to reproduce
2. Horses that have been bred by humans in captivity have more variation of coat colors
than wild horses. What process most likely led to the greater coat color variation in domestic
horses?
A. Natural selection C. Artificial selection
B. Inbreeding D. Cloning
3. Which of the following is true regarding Darwin's theory of evolution?
A. Organisms develop favorable adaptations based on a need.
B. Acquired traits are always passed on to offspring.
C. Individuals pass on adaptations to their offspring, due to natural selection.
D. Pure chance determines which species evolve.
4. Which of the following is NOT part of Darwin’s theory of natural selection?
A. Suitable variations in a population tend to be passed on while unsuitable variations in a
population are not.
B. Individuals with variations suitable to their environment have shorter lifespans and
produce fewer offspring.
C. Variations in a population exist and those variations are inherited
D. Living things tend to produce more offspring than can survive.
5. Individuals in a population that have a variation which gives them an advantage in their
environment are more likely to ___.
A. Survive and reproduce C. die and not reproduce
B. Move to a different environment D. change their characteristics to fit the environment

application or remediation

additional activities for
remediation
