I. Learning Goals
a. Analyze and interpret data for bar graph and histogram.
b. Conduct own bar graph and histogram.
c. Develop patience
II. Learning Content
Topic: Graphs
Subtopic: Bar Graph and Histogram.
Reference:
Time Frame: 50 mins
Materials: wooden blocks
III. Learning Procedures
A.1. Daily Routines
1.1. Prayer
1.2. Greetings
1.3. Checking of Attendance and Cleanliness
1.4 Recall
a. What are the three methods in presenting data?
b. What is textual method?
c. What is tabular method?
B. Development of the lesson
1. Activity Proper
BALANCE TO GRAPH
Table 2
Frequency Distribution Table

Class Interval Frequency

30-34 8
25-29 15
20-24 11
15-19 9
10-14 2
N=45
Given the table above students will construct a bar graph and histogram through
adding or eliminating the wooden blocks from the graph while preventing it to fall
down.

2.Analysis

a. Base from our activity, How bar graph and histrogram differ?

b. How did we make the bar graph ?

c. How did we make the histogram?

d. Base from the graph which interval has the highest frequency? Lowest?

3. Abstraction
Graphical Method

In graphical method, the data are easier to comprehend than presented in tabular
form. It gives life and color to the presentation and very helpful for analysis and interpretation
without going through numerical information. The data presented in tables will be useful to
easily construct the graphs.

To construct the graph, tdo the following steps;

a. Write the chart number and title of the graph. Specify the type of graph used.
b. Draw the horizontal and vertical axes and write the labels.
c. Construct the graph using the data presented in table
d. Write a short description about the chart.
Types of graphs
1. Bar graph- is the graph that uses horizontal or vertical bars whose bases represent
the classes or categories of the data and whose heights show their frequencies.
There are also gaps placed equally between each bar.
2. Histogram- is like a bar graph which shows the behaviour of the data in general.
The bases of the graph represent the class mark of each class while the heights are
the frequencies. It has no gaps between each bar.
IV. Application
Divide the class into five groups each group will make a bar graph about their groups’
shoe size.

V. Evaluation

1. Which of the following grade levels has the most number of enrolees?
2. Which level has the least number of enrolees?
3. How many students are enrolled in grade 8?
4. Which grade levels have a very close member to enrolees?
VI. Generalization
Why do we need to use graphs?
VII. Assignment
Make a bar graph of your daily allowance.
Study about line graphs.
