BILL  NR  1;  PRELIMINARIES

Plants  tools  and  Scaffolding

A The  contractor  shall  provide  at  his  own  risk  and  cost  all  materials
scaffolding,  tools  ,  plants  transport  and  workmen  required  for  the
works  except  in  so  far  as  may  be  stated  otherwise  herein.  No  timber                  2,000,000.00
used  for  scaffolding,  formwork  ,  or  similar  purposes  shall  be
used  afterwards  in  the  permanent  works  

B Watching  and  Lighting

The  contractor  shall  provid  e  at  his  own  expenses  all  watching  ,
lighting  and  prot  e  ction  of  the  works  ,  materials  and  public  through  
fare  s  as  may  be  nec  e  ssary  for  the  sa  f  ety  of  th  e  work  s  and  fo  r  the                  1,000,000.00
 
public  and  his  own  employees.  

C Water  for  the  Works

The  Contractor  s  hall  provide  at  his  own  risk  and  cost  all  water  for
the  use  in  conn  e  ction  with  the  works  including  Sub-­‐  contractor's  
work  ,  mak  e  arrangement  for  the  connection  to  the  main  and
provision  of  a  meter  for  all  wat  e  r  used  by  him  throughout  the  
construction  and  pay  all  costs  ,  fee  and  charges  in  connection
herewith.  He  shall  provide  all  necessary  storage,  cisterns,  tubing                    1,000,000.00
 
and  the  like  and  remove  on  compleion.  All  water  used  in  the  works
shall  be  fresh,  clean  and  pure;  free  from  organic  matters  and  
alkaline  substances  in  solution  or  in  suspension.

D Lighting  and  power  for  the  Work

The  Contrator  shall  arrange  for  a  temporary  meter  and  supply  to
the  site  and  shall  provode  all  temporary  wiring  power  and  lighting
points  for  th  e  whole  of  the  works  and  clear  away  wh  e  n  no  longer                    1,200,000.00
required  .  He  shall  pay  all  charges  for  the  same  and  for  current  consumed

E Area  to  be  occupied  by  Contractor

The  area  of  the  site  which  may  be  occupied  by  the  contractor  will
be  indicat  e  d  to  him  and  the  contractor  must  not  occupy  or
encroach  on  any  ground  beyond  the  area  as  directed  .  

The  contractor  shall  make  every  effort  to  avoid  and  in  any  event
shall  be  liable  for  any  undue  disturbanc  e  amounting  to  nuisanc  e
to  the  occupiers  of  the  contigous  properties  by  reasons  of  
noise,  dust  ,  traffic  and  the  like  or  by  negligence  in  controlling  his
workmen  or  materials  .

A Protection  of  the  work

Cover  -­‐  up  and  effectively  protected  works  from  injury  by  weather  ,
traffic  or  otherwise  and  case  up  and  protect  cells,  stops,  joinery                          500,000.00

B Removal  of  rabbish  and  cleaning

Th  e  contractor  shall  remove  all  rubbish  and  superfluous  materials

from  the  site  of  the  works  with  all  reasonable  speed  from  time  to                          500,000.00

The  contractor  shall  also  properly  cleanse  floors  ,  woodwork,  steps,

paving,  roads,  hard  standings,  glass  (inside  and  outsid  e  ),  cisterns  ,

a  sound  and  perfect  condition  free  from  all  defects  whatsoeve  r,  
and  to  th  e  satisfaction  of  the  Architect.
