Birds Script
All together- नमस्कार गुरुजनों एवं प्रिय मित्रोंI वयं
षष्ठीश्रेणीतः स्मः।अस्माकं प्रस्तति
ु ः पक्षिणां विषये अस्ति।

काक-किं कोऽपि आरम्भं कर्तुं गच्छति ? न, ठीकम ् तर्हि अहं

आरभेयम ्।

(crow- Is anyone going to start? No okay then I will.)

काक- अहं कृष्णवर्णः, मम दीर्घः अतीव दृढः तण्

ु डः अस्ति। मम
उच्चैः कठोरवाणी अस्ति । न वयं सुहृदतमाः पक्षिणः इति
मन्यन्ते ।

(crow-I am black in color, I have a long and very strong

beak. I have a loud and harsh voice. We are not
considered as the most friendly birds. )

कोकिला- आम!्‌ तत ् द्रष्टुं शक्नुमः।

(cuckoo- Yeah,we can see that.)

काक – तथापि, अहं बहु चतुरः पक्षी अस्मि।

(crow- however, I am a very clever bird.)

काक- त्वं कः असि?

(crow- who are you?)

कोकिला- अहं कोकिला अस्मि। अहं बहु चतुरः सुन्दरः च पक्षी

अस्मि।

(cuckoo- I am cuckoo. I am a very clever and beautiful

bird.)

कोकिला -वयं ऋतन

ु स
ु ारं यात्रां कुर्मः। मम तीक्ष्णतण्
ु डं दीर्घपच्
ु छं
च अस्ति। अस्माकं नेत्राणि रक्तानि, मादा कोकिलस्य
कृष्णकृष्णवर्णः, पुरुषकोकिलस्य नील-कृष्णवर्णः च भवति ।
परु
ु षकोकिलस्य वाणी अतीव मधरु ा भवति, कुहू, कुहू इति
शब्दान ् करोति।

(cuckoo- I keep travelling according to the season. I have

a sharp beak and a long tail. Our eyes are red, Female
cuckoos have brownish-black color and male cuckoos
have blue-black color. The voice of the male cuckoo is
very sweet, it makes sounds of Kuhu, Kuhu. )
काक- अपि च अन्येषु पक्षिनीडेषु अण्डानि न ददति वा? तथा त्वं
स्वकीयानि नीडानि अपि न करोषि।
(crow- Also, don’t you lay your eggs in others bird’s
nests. And you don’t even make your own nests.)
कोकिला -आम ्, अतीव सत्यम ्, अहं अनुमानं करोमि यत ् अत
एव वयं अतीव चतरु ाः स्मः, अपि च अस्माभिः प्रवासं कुर्वन्तः
एव भवितव्यम ्।

(cuckoo- Yes, It is true, I guess that is why we are called

clever, also we have to keep migrating.)

कोकिला- त्वं कः पक्षी ?

(cuckoo- what bird are you?)
बक -अहं बक अस्मि। अहं लम्बोदरः दीर्घपादकण्ठः प्रायः
दीर्घतुण्डः च अस्मि। वयं सर्वाहारिणः पक्षिणः स्मः ये मख्
ु यतया
कीट-मकरक-कृमि-आदि-लघु-पशून ् खादन्ति ।

(I am crane. I am tall with long legs, necks and usually

long beaks. We are omnivorous birds that feed primarily
on insects, spiders, rodents and other small animals.)
बक- त्वं तर्हि कः पक्षी?
(crane-what bird are you then?)
उलूकः- अहं उलूकः अस्मि।
(owl- I am an owl.)

ू ाः अतीव बद्धि
ु मान ् द्रत
ु पक्षिणः भवन्ति। मम
भवद्भ्यः सर्वेभ्यः विपरीतम ् एकः हुक्तुण्डः अस्ति, एकः
ह्रस्वपच्
ु छः च अस्ति। वयं नेत्राणि चालयितुं असमर्थाः स्मः,
नेत्राणां स्थाने, वयं कण्ठं परिभ्रमामः, कण्ठं प्रायः १८० डिग्री
परिभ्रमितुं शक्नुमः।

(Owl- Owls are very intelligent and fast birds. Unlike you
all I have a hooked beak, and a short tail. We are unable
to move our eyes, instead of eyes, we rotate our neck,
we can rotate our neck by about 180 degrees.)

उलूकः- वयं दिनं निद्रां कुर्मः, रात्रौ मग

ृ याम ् अपि कुर्मः।
(Owl- We sleep during the day, and hunt at night.)

उलूकः- अस्माकं दर्शन-श्रवण-क्षमता अन्येभ्यः पक्षिभ्यः
अधिका अस्ति । उलक
ू ः दे वी लक्ष्मीया वाहनं मन्यते ।
(Owl- Our ability to see and hear is more than other
birds. Owl is considered to be the vehicle og goddess
Lakshmi. )
उलूकः- त्वं कः पक्षी असि ?
(Owl- What bird are you?)
शुकः- अहं शुकः अस्मि। मम हरितपक्षिणः, कण्ठे कृष्णरे खा,
वक्रं रक्तवर्णीयं तण्
ु डं च अस्ति । वयं सर्वाहारी कीटफलबीजानि
च अनेकानि च खादामः ।
(Parrot- I am Parrot. I have green feathers, a black line
across my neck and a curve red colored beak.We are
omnivorous and eat insects, fruits, seeds, and many
more.)

शुकः- ते पुच्छं कम्पयित्वा एकत्र संवादं कुर्वन्ति। अन्येषां

पक्षिणां तुलने वयं शुकानां शिक्षणक्षमता अधिका भवति। एवं
शक
ु ाः गणनाय, वस्तन
ु ां, व्यक्तिनां, अनेकानां च परिचयाय च
प्रशिक्षिताः भवितुम ् अर्हन्ति ।
(Parrot- They communicate together by shaking their tail.
We Parrots have a higher learning capacity when
compared to other birds. Thus, parrots can be trained to
count and to identify things, persons, and many more.)
शक
ु ः- त्वं कः पक्षी ?
(Parrot- What bird are you?)

चटका - अहं चटका अस्मि। अहं प्रायः सर्वत्र विश्वे दृश्यते। अहं
बहु सुन्दरः लघु च अस्मि, मम पीततुण्डः अस्ति।
कीटधान्यभक्षणेन उदरं परू यन्ति वयं सर्वाहारिणः।

(I am Sparrow. I am found almost all over the world. I am

very pretty and small, I have a yellow beak. We are
omnivores who fill our stomach by eating insects and
grains.)

चटका- वक्ष
ृ ेषु नीडं कृत्वा शग
ृ ालपक्षिणः जीवन्ति । अस्माकं
पर्यावरणस्य पारिस्थितिकीतन्त्रे चटका महत्त्वपूर्णां भमि
ू कां
निर्वहति ।

(Sparrow- Sparrow birds live by making their nest on the

trees. The sparrow plays an important role in the
ecosystem of our environment.)
शग
ृ ाल- त्वं कः पक्षी ?

(Sparrow- What Bird are you?)

कपोतः- अहं कपोतः अस्मि। अहं बहु सन्

ु दरः पक्षी अस्मि
तथा प्रायः सम्पूर्ण विश्व में पाया गया।
(Pigeon- I am Pigeon. I am a very beautiful bird and found
almost all over the world.)

कपोतः- वयं गोधूमम ्, धान्यं, दालम ् इत्यादीन ् खादामः।

(Pigeon-We eat wheat, cereals, pulses, etc.)

कपोतः- श्रवणस्मति
ृ शक्तिश्च मम अन्येभ्यः पक्षिभ्यः
अधिका अस्ति।

(Pigeon- I have more power of hearing and memory than

any other bird.)

कपोतः- कपोताः पूर्वकाले दत

ू त्वेन प्रयुक्ताः आसन ् ।

(Pigeon- Pigeons were used as a messenger in ancient

times.)

कपोत- त्वं कः पक्षी ?

(Pigeon- What bird are you?)

मयरू ः- अहं मयरू ः अस्मि।

(Peacock- I am peacock.)

मयूरः- यथा भवन्तः पश्यन्ति, अहं बहु सुन्दर: पक्षी अस्मि।

(Peacock- As you can see, I am a very beautiful bird.)

मयूरः- मम परिमाणं सर्वेषु पक्षिषु बहृ त्तमः अस्ति।

(Peacock- My size is the largest of all birds.)

मयरू ः- मयरू ः भारतस्य राष्ट्रियपक्षी अपि अस्ति ।

(Peacock - Peacock is also the national bird of India.)

मयूरः- मम कण्ठः दीर्घः, बैंगनीवर्णः च अस्ति। मम शरीरं

नीलवर्णीयं बैंगनीवर्णीयं च अस्ति। मम पक्षाः अतीव
विशालाः सन्ति, अतः ते पर्याप्तं दरू ं न उड्डीयन्ते ।

(Peacock- My neck is long and violet color. My body is

blue and purple. My wings are very large, so they do not
fly far enough.)
मयूरः- मम स्वरः अतीव द्रत
ु गतिः अस्ति, या
द्विकिलोमीटर् दरू तः अपि श्रय
ू ते ।
(Peacock- My voice is very fast, which can be heard even
from two kilometers away.)
मयूरः- वर्षा अस्माकं रोचते। यदा वर्षा भवति तदा वयं
पक्षान ् प्रसारयित्वा नत्ृ यं आरभामः।
(Peacock- We like rain. When it's raining we spread our
wings and start dancing.)
मयूरः- भवान ् कः पक्षी अस्ति ? त्वं उत्तमं दृश्यसे।
(Peacock- What bird are you? You look good.)
हं सः- धन्यवादः मयरू ः। अहं हं सः अस्मि।
(Swan- Thank you Peacock. I am Swan.)
हं सः- अहं एकः पक्षी अस्मि यः प्रायः तडाग-धारा-आदिषु
जल-पिण्डेषु तरति। पक्षाणामपि अहं उड्डीयेतंु न शक्नोमि।
तथापि अहं दीर्घकूदं कर्तुं शक्नोमि।
(Swan- I am a bird that usually swims on water bodies
like ponds, streams, etc. In spite of having wings, I cannot
fly. However, I can take long jumps.)
हं सः- हं साः लघक ु ीटान ् मत्स्यान ् अन्यान ् लघप ु शनू ् च
खादन्ति ।
(Swan- The swans eat small insects, fishes, and other
small animals.)
हं सः- हं साः सौन्दर्यस्य, सौन्दर्यस्य, प्रसादस्य च कृते विश्वे
प्रसिद्धाः सन्ति ।
(Swan- Swans are known around the world for their
beauty, elegance, and grace.)

Nishita-ते जनानां जीवने आनन्दं जनयन्ति तदतिरिक्तं

आर्थिककारणात ् पक्षिणः अपि बहुमूल्याः भवन्ति ।
Prajakta- प्राकृतिकव्यवस्थानां महत्त्वपूर्णतत्त्वरूपेण
पक्षिणां पारिस्थितिकमल्
ू यं भवति ।
Riya- पक्षिणः कीट-कृन्तक-नियन्त्रणं, वनस्पति-परागणं,
बीज-प्रसारणं च कुर्वन्ति यस्य परिणामेण जनानां कृते
मूर्त-लाभः भवति ।
Varad- पक्षिणः अपि प्रकृतेः सौन्दर्यं ददति ।

Nishita- (In addition to the joys they bring to people's

lives, birds are also valuable for economic
reasons.)Prajakta-(Birds have ecological value as
important elements of natural systems.)Riya-(Birds
provide insect and rodent control, plant pollination, and
seed dispersal which result in tangible benefits to
people.)Varad- (Birds also provide beauty to the nature.)
