Semi detailed lesson plan in mathematics 2

I. Objective
At the end of the lesson the learners are expected to:
a. Determine what is addition without regrouping
b. To know how to line up the numbers in expanded form and short method
c. To know how to add 3 to 4- digit numbers without regrouping in expanded
and short form.

II. Subject matter


Topic: Addition without Regrouping
Material: Visual aid, scissor, Glue stick , colored paper and marker
References: Enjoying Life with Mathematics 2

III. Procedures
A. Preliminary activities
 Prayers
 Cleaning
 Greeting
 Checking of attendance
 Review

B. Motivation
Ask the pupils how many letters in the word mathematics and English.
Let the pupils add the letters of the word mathematics and English.
Ask someone from the class to add the number of letters in the word
mathematics and English.
C. Activities
Divide the class into three groups.
Each group will follow the instruction given in the activity.
The teacher will check the work of each group.
D. Analysis
The teacher ask the pupils such as,
What have you observe in the given activities?
E. Abstraction
Proceed to the next lesson which is addition without regrouping.
Ask the pupils about their ideas in addition without regrouping.
Introduce the meaning of addition without regrouping.
Introduce the number in expanded form and short method.
Discuss and perform the expanded form and short method.
F. Application
The teacher let the pupils observe the problem on the board and let them
answer each number.
IV. Assessment
The pupils will answer the given problem on the board.
Line up the addends in place value chart. Then add to find the sum.
