e aim mode Procedure
Hello, how's your mood today? How have you spent your weekends?
2-3 Who can remind what we did previously?
min warm-up T-Sts Hope you had time for your hometask.
Now I want you in pairs to check the hometask. If you have some differences mark them
We’ll discuss it later.

Now, those who doesn’t have the audio for workbook – you can easily find it on the
5-7 Page of Oxford university press. If you have troubles with finding it, please, let me
min h\t check T-Sts Know.
What did we discuss the previous time? Who can remind us?
Before we start work, let’s quickly refresh your knowledge of the words.
(play the vid)
Which activities have you seen in it?
Last time, we had quite enough words, not all of them were new, right?
Let’s try to revise them. You’ll be divided into 2 (3) groups. Each person of the group
should come to the board and write 3 words, that are explained by your group members.
Lead-in + Don’t forget to use the appropriate verb (do, play, go or some other verb)
7-10 Vocabulary (hand out 1)
min CHECK st-st If you work hard during the lesson, you’ll have -1 task on your hometask.
3-5 Grammar T-St
min

Talking about the adverbs of frequency, the hardest thing is to place them correctly.
Now, let’s talk about them one by one.
Where do we place always? (between the subject and the predicate – verb) Please,
Give the example. (I always go skating in winter)
Where do we place usually? (between the subject and the verb – 1, in the beginning of
The sentence – to make the emphasis on it in an argument) Please, give the examples.
(I usually play Table tennis on Saturdays. Usually, I don’t talk too much.)
Where do we place often? (between the subject and the predicate – verb) Please,
Give the example. (I often go horse riding in summer)
Where do we place sometimes? (between the subject and the predicate – verb, in the
beginning or the ending of the sentence) Please, give the example. (I sometimes go
hiking in autumn. Sometimes, I go hiking in autumn. I go hiking in autumn sometimes)
Where do we place hardly ever? (between the subject and the predicate - verb) Please,
Give the example. (I hardly ever go swimming.)
Where do we place never? (between the subject and the predicate – verb) Please,
Give the example. ( I never smoke.)
And now let’s remember about one special verb – to be. Why special, because we’ll use
All the frequency verbs after it. Let’s think about examples (I am always free on Sundays.
I’m usually late for classes. I’m often right. I’m sometimes stronger than my team. I’m
Hardly ever right in the questions of logic. I’m never late for important meetings)
Thank you for your fruitful work. But it’s still not the end. As our last task for today, you
Will have to listen to 5 speakers and define which sports and activities they are talking
about.
But before we start we have 2 points to talk about. The first one is the words. And the
Second is notetaking while listening.
Let’s translate these words together:

Inevitably
Appeal to sb
Glued to sth
Bargain
Loathe
Play in tune

And now just a few words on notetaking. In the future at your exam, you’ll have to
listen and to match which speaker does what. In order not to make mistakes in this
part it’s very useful to listen and at the same time write down some key information.
That is exactly your task right now.
So, let’s see what you understood.

7-10 Listening task Tell me, please, which activities, you have never tried and which you never want to try?
min T-St Which activities do you want to try one day?
St-St Spread task 2)
Now you all have received a table, in which you have a list of activities and 5 columns.
Your task is to move around and to ask your group mates about these activities.
You need to find at least 1 person, who can do at least 3 activities on your lists.
Later you need to talk about this person and we will need to guess who you are talking
5-7 Grammar about.
min task Don’t forget to use appropriate verbs!
7-10 Grammar T-St In the previous task, which tenses have you used?
min Revision Mostly it was Present Perfect, right?
Who can remind what are the main reasons for usage of this tense?
 The connection to the present – result
 The unidentified past – again we see the result of some action
 We say how long the action takes place – for non-action verbs
 We talk about our experience – we are still alive which means even if we
haven’t tried sth we still have time
What about Past Simple? What do we pay attention to?
 We state the exact time
 We can talk about actions which happened one after another
 We talk about sth which can’t happen anymore ( I was an athlete and won
several gold medals. But I’m not an athlete right now, so I can’t win any more medal.)
 We talk about somebody who passed away (I once took a photo of Dostoevskiy)

I know that you’re clever. So, who can remind me what is the difference between:
I have been to Berlin. And I have gone to Berlin.
(been to – I have an experience of travelling there; gone to – I am there now.)
Let’s quickly do the exercises (pic 3, 4) and do something more enteraining.
(10-15 min) Grammar Game – St-St

And now, I need two people who will remind us the most typical time expressions of
past simple and present perfect.
(yesterday, last week, 2 days ago; ever, never, since, for, in the last 2 months, yet)

As I promised, let’s train your creativity a little bit.

You’ll continue working in the groups 2(3). Each group receives a board and cards with
time expressions (typical for present perfect and past simple).
Your task is to throw the dice and count which square it is. Then you pick up the card
With Time expression. You need to combine the topic of the square you got and time
Expression to make up a question. Ask anybody from your group this question. But
please be creative, don’t just ask questions like “have you ever been to…?”

The first person to finish the game – gets a bonus. The allowance not to do #5 from
your WB.
Last time what did we have the debate about? (Free time: should teens have it or not?)
This time I suggest you think about the future.
Should people give up their hobbies and free time activities, once they grow up?
You’ll be again divided into 2 groups. One will support the idea that they should and the
second will support the idea that they shouldn’t.
15- You have 5 min to come up with the ideas to support your opinion.
25 Then listen carefully to each other and start speaking, using the phrases which you
min Debates St-St Received previously.
So what have you remembered from today’s lesson? What was new? Do you remember
some words connected to leisure or activities?
