Kursus akan membincangkan sejarah perkembangan
falsafah pendidikan utama Barat seperti perenialisme,
progresivisme, dan esensialisme yang mempengaruhi
perkembangan falsafah pendidikan dunia. Perbandingan
akan dibuat dengan falsafah pendidikan Islam. Dengan
latar belakang ini, sejarah perkembangan pendidikan di
Malaysia akan dikaji untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang
mempengaruhi polisi dan amalan pendidikan dari semasa
ke semasa. Tumpuan akan diberi terhadap perkembangan
terkini seperti Falsafah Pendidikan Kebangsaan dan
pelaksanaan KBSM serta KSSM. Pelajar juga akan
dibimbing untuk mengenal pasti andaian di sebalik
pelbagai pendekatan terhadap pengajaran dan seterusnya
menyedari falsafah pendidikan masing-masing.
Penilaian Berterusan: 70%
Peperiksaan Akhir: 30%
Markah penilaian berterusan akan diumumkan dalam
kelas dan/atau diletakkan di papan kenyataan

philosophy of education from time to time.

The course will discuss the historical developments
of Western education philosophy such as
perenialism, progressivism, and essentialism that
affect the development of the world's education
philosophy. Comparisons will be made with the
philosophy of Islamic education. With this
background, the history of educational development
in Malaysia will be examined to analyze factors
affecting education policies and practices from time
to time. Focus will be given on recent developments
such as the National Education Philosophy and the
implementation of KBSM and KSSM. Students will
also be guided to identify the assumptions behind
various approaches to teaching and subsequently
recognizing their respective educational philosophies
Continuous Assessment: 70%
Final Examination:30%
Continuous assessment score will be announced in
class and/or placed on a notice board
