● Infer how they will use the interaction part of the SIOP process in their own classroom ● Analyze the difference between the University of Scranton’s lesson plan components versus the SIOP Lesson Plan components. ● Demonstrate application and practices that can be implemented in a SIOP lesson. DURING: ● The teacher will introduce the interaction, practice, and application component of the SIOP model. ● The teacher will discuss what is apart of the interaction stage, and then ask students how teachers can include more interaction in the classroom. ● Next the teacher will discuss the practice and application stage. The teacher will ask students to come up with examples of both practice and application in the classroom. ● The students will watch a video of application and practice in a real classroom. AFTER: ● The class will be split into teams to play jeopardy as a review of what was learned. ● Finally, the teacher will ask the class to compare a SIOP lesson plan to the university lesson plan.
