As a student, how do you show your duties and responsibilities as a Filipino citizen?
Student’s Answer:

A Filipino citizen’s responsibilities and duties are critical to the country’s overall well-being.
Saying that, there are numerous ways for me to fulfil my duties and responsibilities as a Filipino
citizen, such as respecting our diverse culture and traditions, paying homage to the Philippines’
long history, participating in activities that promote national development and being
knowledgeable about and adhering to the laws in place.

The Philippines is rich in history, and we owe it to our ancestors. Our culture and customs, as well
as the values instilled in everyone, all contribute to the vibrant Filipino identity. As a student, I
may demonstrate my obligations and responsibilities to the country by appreciating and learning
about our past. Another option is to join in various activities and initiatives designed to benefit
others. This does not limit my participation since, as a college Filipino student, I may take the
initiative to organize my own activities. Programs that, no matter how little, would benefit
society. In addition, I may learn about the rules put in place to keep the country peaceful. By first
being aware of the law, I guarantee that I understand why the law was put in place and that I do
not mindlessly obey. One of the advantages of being a student is that I am interested and wise
enough to see that no country is flawless. Following a law blindly would violate one of my
responsibilities as a Filipino citizen, which is to participate in activities aimed at national progress.

As a result, knowing our history, culture, and customs, as well as the difficulties that impede the
country’s progress, will demonstrate my obligations and responsibilities as a Filipino citizen.
Taking the initiative in my own way will allow me to better carry out such tasks and therefore
help my country.
