As a student, how do you show your duties and responsibilities as a Filipino citizen?
Student’s Answer:

As a student, how can I show my duties and responsibilities as a Filipino citizen? First of all, for our country
to improve, we must be responsible citizens to accomplish personal and societal development. The overall
well-being of the Philippines relies on the duties and responsibilities of its citizens. There are multiple
ways to fulfill our responsibilities as Filipino citizens.

One of the ways is to preserve and uphold Filipino identity, culture, values, patrimony, and traditions. I
should have knowledge about my country’s history and I should respect its tradition and culture. We
should appreciate our culture because it reflects on who we are as people. The traditions and values that
have been passed down from generation to generation make us unique. Our culture provides us
knowledge about our history and the sacrifices that were made by our ancestors to make the country
what it is today. By appreciating our culture and traditions, we are honoring the sacrifices and efforts of
those who came before us. Another way of showing my duties and responsibilities is by respecting the
rights of other people. We must always keep in mind our shared equality and practice respect for others.
Other Filipinos, especially the elderly, should be respected.

Overall, I can fulfill my responsibilities as a Filipino citizen by learning about our history, preserving and
appreciating our culture and traditions, actively taking part in various government programs, and in other
numerous ways.
