This assignment (Assessment 2 of 2) covers Learning Outcome 3 & 4 (LO3, LO4).
 This is an individual assignment.

 The submission format is in the form of an E-report. Please refer the “Turnitin Submission Rules”
that was posted on Moodle.

 The file on Turnitin must be in Word format; should have the first page of this cover sheet that
includes the assignment code, number, tittle, assessors’ names and student’s name and ID.

 Name of the file includes Student ID_Unit name_Assessment no. (E.g. “1010001_OPM_A2.1”)

 Ensure that authenticity declaration has been signed electronically.

 Include a content sheet with a list of all headings and page numbers.

 Plagiarism is unacceptable. Students must cite all sources and input the information by
paraphrasing, summarising or using direct quotes. A Referral Grade is given when Plagiarism is

 Your evidence/findings must be cited using Harvard Referencing Style. Please refer to Reference

 This assignment should be written in a concise, formal business style using Arial 11 or Times
New Roman 13 font size and 1.5 spacing.

Assessment Brief and Guidance:


SCENARIO
You are required to come up with a project and:

- apply the project life cycle to present a management plan for your project;
- execute and deliver at least one deliverable which is defined in your Project Charter;
- review and critique the application of the PLC used in your project; and
- write a report for your project.
Your project should fall in the following theme and the project budget is under 100 million Vietnam
dongs.
Project theme: Sharing is caring
Community service is work done by a person or group of people that benefits others. It is often done
near the area where you live, so your own community reaps the benefits of your work. Community
service can help many different groups of people: children, senior citizens, people with disabilities,
even animals and the environment. You are to start your own community service project for helping
others and improving your community.
The project report should start with an introduction and it should address the specific tasks as follows:
1. Introduce your project (e.g What is your project? What are its objectives? Why do you choose the
idea? When will the project happen? For how long? What is the task of each team member? How
can you complete the project?)
2. Apply the Project Life Cycle (PLC) to your project
 Describe the PLC and each stage of the PLC
 Analyze how each stage of the PLC can be applied in your project
 Produce necessary supporting documentation for completing the project (eg: project charter,
WBS, OBS, project matrix priority, WBS Coding, responsibility matrix, activity list, critical path,
project schedule, cost management plan, risk register, work performance measurement, final
report)
 Analyse the rationale for the project methodologies, tools and leadership within the PLC for
your project
3. Review and critique the application of the PLC in your project
 Review and critique the effectiveness of the PLC in application to the chosen project using
appropriate theories, concepts and models.
 Critically analyse how the use of appropriate theories, concepts and models in the PLC will
differentiate between large and small-scale projects.
 Critically evaluate the PLC through a practical and theoretical exploration of its effectiveness to
draw valid conclusions and recommendations for improvement.
Hints: You should use a project management software, such as MS project, to help you in preparing
project documents. You may find project document samples in the file attached with this assignment
brief.
