Research Methodology

Data Collection

In this study, the data collection methods used are simple but efficient and effective. Online
questionnaires and surveys are made by researchers and will be given/linked out to reach the our
study’s respondents and samples. Another way is through reading and gathering existing documents,
studies and records that have already been made prior to the study. In this way, our research will not
only improve these records but will also fill in gaps of existing research studies similar to our study.

Data Collection Tools

As this study mostly uses online data gathering methods/procedures, the tools used will be
social media platforms and the internet. For us researchers to reach out to our respondents with our
online questionnaires and surveys, we will be using any of the social media platforms that are
available for our respondents and us, such as Gmail Accounts, Yahoo mails, Facebook, and Google
forms. One more important tool, are website articles, online documents and research studies to be
found in the internet.

Data Measurement Scale

As our study uses online questionnaires and surveys, the data measurement scales used are
Likert scale and a bit of the semantic differential scale. This is so that our respondents are able to
provide us researchers with a range of opinions and their experience with our research problem using
the Bipolar Likert Scale. With the use of Likart Scale, researchers have made points about the different
effects of the curfews on Sari-sari stores and have our respondents answer freely and honestly with
the given scale of two polar opposites of ‘satisfaction or dissatisfaction.’ And with Semantic
Differential Scale, our respondents will be able to provide accurate and with quality information in
regards to expressing their thoughts and opinions on the effects of curfews on Sari-Sari stores using
open-ended questions where respondents can write out descriptive statements, comments and
opinions in regards to the topic of the study.

Research Design

The design used in this study is through descriptive research design. This is because our study
will mostly tackle on the effects brought upon the curfew set on Sari-sari stores in Barangay Basak San
Nicolas Cebu. This study will be focusing on improving existing records by fully gathering and
presenting data regarding this research problem.

Research Instrument

The research instruments to be used are survey questionnaires and existing documents that aid
in understanding the study’s research title.

Research Method

The research method used in this study is the Qualitative Research Method wherein we collect
both observational and derived/compiled data from the the surveys and existing documents provided
and use these for the study. Researchers take measures and efforts in creating online questionnaires
to obtain said observational data while also accumulating a good portion of derived data from across
the internet and many other different sources that holds existing documents that are alike our study.
