Abstract: Integrated approach is the modern teaching method that allows learners to explore,
gather, refine and present information about topics they want to investigate without the constraints
imposed by traditional subject barriers. Integrated learning encourages students to see the
interconnectedness and interrelationships between the curriculum areas. This article introduces some
issues of integrated teaching and illustrates with a process of designing thematic integrated lessons in
teaching mathematics at high school. Many contents of mathematics are related to knowledge of
Chemistry and Biology, thus integration of these subjects in one theme will help students understand
fully the real life issues.
Keywords: Integrated teaching, real life problems, mathematics, chemistry, biology.
