Semi- Detailed Lesson Plan in Arts

I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:
A. Name, identify, and describe the four basic shapes.
B. Draw the four basic shapes.

II. Subject Matter: Drawing Shapes


Materials: Cut- outs of the four basic shapes
References: K to 12 Curriculum in Mathematics for Grade 1

III. Procedure
A. Preliminaries
The teacher will let the pupils watch a nursery rhyme video entitled “The Shape Song”

B. Motivation
The teacher will post a skeleton of a picture of the board. She will give the cut-outs shapes to the
pupils and they will complete the skeleton picture to make the picture colorful by pasting the
shapes on their proper places

C. Presentation
The teacher will show cut-outs of the four basic shapes one by one.

D. Application
The Teacher will give different pictures of the objects with circle, square, rectangle, and triangle
shape. The pupils will place the picture under the column of its proper shape.

E. Generalization
Again, what are the four basic shapes?
Let’s describe again each shape starting from circle, triangle, square, and rectangle

IV. Evaluation
Draw an object having the same shape of the following
Rectangle
Circle
Triangle
Square

V. Assignment
Color the Jeepney. Color the circle shapes blue, the rectangle Shapes yellow, the square shapes red,
and triangle shapes orange.
