NARRATIVE REPORT
Virtual OJT

Session 1:
Last April 02, 2022 at 8:00 in the morning, conducted the first virtual OJT via Google meet,
which has a lot of students from ILOCOS SUR COMMUNITY COLLEGE. The Guest speaker is
Ms. Concepcion Mendoza. So how does the virtual OJT help us as a student? What the topic that
they need to understand the participant?
The virtual OJT started from the title “CAREER IN HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM
INDUSTRY”. In here, I’ve learned What is the definition of Hospitality Industry which can help to
understand the. They also discussed and give the meaning of the overview of all Hotel Positions to
know more about the topic. She discussed also about the different Room Division Hotel positions
and what they need to do in that position and also the management and headquarters position.
The second topic is about the Airline. It aims to discuss the airlines to know what can be
worked on there. Also in Cruise line Jobs, and Job in tourism. After all the discussion they provide
videos to better understand the topic very well.
They also give a live quiz to all participants to challenge us if we have learned in simple way
of their discussion.

Session 2:
Last April 10, 2022 at 1:00pm in the afternoon, conducted the Second Virtual OJT entitled
“INTRODUCTION TO TRAVEL MANAGEMENT” by Ms. Conception Mendoza.
In this virtual OJT started from the definition of Travel Management which I learned what
are the benefits of Travel Management. The approaches to Travel Management and their advantages.
The Guest Speaker also discussed the definition of External Corporate Travel Agencies and their
advantages and the benefits of using the Travel Management Companies which I learned the
different functions of it.
When the speaker is about to finish the discussion and explain every important details about
the topic, the speaker give a live quiz to challenge us if we have learned about the discussion. And
lastly, the speaker took a screenshot photo as proof of participation for the second virtual OJT.

Session 3.
The Third Session of Virtual OJT entitled “THE SYSTEM OF TRAVEL AGENCY” held on
April24, 2022 at 1:00pm was cancelled.

Session 4:
May 01, 2022 at 9:00 am was conducted the 4th virtual OJT entitled “FOOD SAFETY AND
SANITATION” with our Guest Speaker Doc. Juan Martin Guasch.
In this session, I have learned the Food Safety in the proper handling, cooking and storage of
food to prevent any food-borne illness or disease that cause from eating contaminated food. The food
safety training is to protect customers from health risk, such as food poisoning, and food allergies.
Food safety training is more important for business.
For Personal Hygiene is to maintain cleanliness of our body. Caring for our well-being, and
doing physical hygiene habits have the benefits for our mental health that give a better result. First is
the clean – keep yourself and work in a clean areas. Second, separate and keep raw pork, beef, and
chicken meats away from other foods. Third is always prepare and cook properly. Chill stone foods
appropriately both before and after cooking.
The important of HACCP- Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point is a worldwide recognize
systematic and prevention approach to food safety.

Session 5:
May 07, 2022 at 1:00 pm was conducted the 5 th virtual OJT session entitled “KITCHEN
BRIGADE” with the Guest Speaker Chef Reynaldo De Guzman.
In this session, the guest speaker gave the organizational chart for the chef. The speaker
explain one by one of their duties and responsibilities as Chef. The importance of food safety and
sanitation was discussed by the speaker.
Control time and temperature to practice Good Personal Hygiene and to prevent cross
contamination, and to purchase from approved suppliers. The speaker revealed the acronym meaning
of FIFO which is “First In, First Out”.
The speaker discussed and explained clearly the different types of cutting vegetables for
cooking method. I learned from the discussion of the speaker on how to differentiate the moist heat
and dry heat, the stocks and sauce and lastly the types of stock, definition and ingredients.
When the speaker is about to finish the discussion and explain every important details about
the topic, the speaker give a live quiz to challenge us if we have learned about the discussion.

Session 6:
May 15, 2022 at 9:00 am was conducted the 6th virtual OJT session entitled “TRAVEL
AGENCY AND PRODUCT ITINERARY IN THE NEW NORMAL” with our Guest speaker Prof.
Mary Grace Sumugat.
In this session I’ve learned a lot about travel agency, one of the very important Component of
the tourism industry that help facilities of the tourism code of 1980 defines a travel agency as
follows. A travel and a tour agency an entity engaged. For travel agent is a person who represent a
travel agency. The speaker also discussed about the different types of travel agent and travel agency.
The airline reservation parallel track with the growth of the of the airlines and travel agencies.
Travel agencies, tour operators and other tourism related entities are now permitted to operate at a
limited capacity.
I also learned about the tour package and itinerary for tourism packages are an integrate part
of the travel and tourism industry. The tour package is a total tourism product consisting of
transportation from market area of the destination, accommodation, and recreational activities by the
tourism. I also learned the stages for package tour. For the packaging of many tourism, the business
package various tourism product and present them as a combined product to their client.
So, all of these, I’ve learned a lot about the travel agency in the new normal operation that I
can apply all of these if I’ve given the chance to work in Travel Agencies.

Session 7.
May 21, 2022 at 9:00 AM conducted the last virtual OJT session with the title
“PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT AND ATTITUDE TOWARDS SUCCESS” by Mr. Antonell
Albano.
For the last session of my virtual OJT, I’ve learned a lot about my personality development
actually development from the organized pattern of attitudes and behavior which makes an
individual distinctive. To enhance my Personality, I don’t need to compare myself to others, I don’t
need the negative thoughts or things that I can’t control, instead of that I will invest my energy for
the positive present moment. I don’t want to waste my precious energy on gossip.
For this session, I’ve learned to make myself healthy and avoid stress. And for fundamentals
techniques in handing people, don’t criticize or complain. Give the honest and sincere appreciation.
And for the last, show respect for the person opinion, never say they wrong. If they wrong, then
admit it quickly and emphatically. Respect yourself first before others.
