Scene 1: Long ago, there were 2 sisters who had the same father but different mothers. The
older sister was Tam and the younger one was Cam. => tấm, cám, dì ghẻ và cha tấm
đứng ra giới thiệu, nhưng chỉ có cám, dì ghẻ và cha tấm trông giống người một nhà,
còn tấm đứng như người ngoài cuộc với vẻ mặt cô đơn và buồn bã.

Scene 2: Tam’s mother passed away when Tam was still young, but she had taught Tam to
always be kind, because whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. => tấm ngồi nhớ về
những ngày tháng ở bên mẹ với vẻ mặt hoài niệm, có chút buồn

Scene 3: Many years later, her father passed away too. Therefore, she had to live with her
stepmother, Cam’s mother. This stepmother was very cruel, she forced Tam to do everything
laborious work, from doing chores to gardening or farming. Meanwhile, Cam was biased and
didn’t have to do any single thing. => dì ghẻ bắt tấm làm đủ thứ việc trên đời từ nấu
cơm, dọn dẹp, giặt giũ trong khi cám thì luôn được cưng chiều.

Scene 4: One sunny day, the mother gave the two sisters a bag to go to the field to catch
some shrimp. The stepmother promised:
- I'll give whoever can collect a bag full of shrimp first a new red dress.

cám: tỏ ra ngoan ngoãn, nghe lời mẹ, nhưng trong lòng thì đang tính kế để không
phải làm nhưng vẫn được thưởng quà.
tấm: 2 mắt sáng lên, gương mặt đầy chờ mong, tự nhủ sẽ làm việc tốt để mẹ vui lòng.

Scene 5: Tam worked really hard so she caught a bag full. On the other hand, Cam was
playing and did not work at all, so she caught nothing.
tấm: chăm chỉ làm việc với thái độ nghiêm túc với công việc
cám: mải miết rong chơi, hái hoa bắt bướm, không chút quan tâm tới việc mẹ giao.

- Tam, Tam! Your head is really dirty! You should go to the lake to wash your head or
else our mother will scold you!
Cam succeeded in tricking Tam to go to the lake to wash her head. When Tam wasn't
noticing, Cam poured all of the shrimp into her bag and then quickly ran home.

Scene 6: When Tam walked up from the lake, all that was left was an empty bag. She cried
so much that her eyes got swollen.

Scene 7: Having heard her crying, a fairy man appeared and asked:
- Why are you crying?
- Me and my sister were going to the lake to catch some shrimp for our mom. I caught
a bag full of shrimp and my sister caught nothing, but she tricked me and stole all of
my shrimp. If I go home now, I’m definitely going to get scolded by my mom :(
- It’s ok, stop crying! Have a look into the bag and see if there is anything left.
- There’s a goby, dear fairy man.
- You bring that goby home with you, drop it into the well and take care of it. Every
meal, bring one bowl of rice to feed it. Everytime you feed it, you must call it like this:
"Oh goby, oh goby
Come hear and eat rice with me
Don't eat food from another family."
If you don't call like that then the goby won't come up!
Then, the fairy man disappeared.

Scene 8: Tam followed his words and put the goby into the well. Every meal, she would
save up a bit of rice to feed it. The fish grew up fast not much later.

Scene 9: Because of that, the stepmother got suspicious of her and told Cam to spy on
her. Cam hid under a bush and heard Tam calling the goby.

phúc hơn bình thường.

Scene 10: Cam tried to remember all the words and went back to tell her mom.

That evening, the stepmother told Tam with a sweet voice:
- Oh Tam, the village has started to ban farming. You must take the buffalo and go
farming far away, don't farm here or we will lose the land.

Scene 11: Tam followed her words and went far away early the next morning. At home,
Cam brought a bowl of rice to the well and did exactly what Cam had done to call the goby

Scene 12: In the afternoon, after Tam had finished farming, she went back home. She
brought a bowl of rice to call the goby, but nothing came up. She knew the worst thing had
happened. She cried loudly, once again, and the fairy man appeared:
- Why are you crying again?
- My goby has been eaten! I went farming far away today, but when I came back
home, the goby had already disappeared!
- Don’t cry. Now take its bones, put them in 4 jars and put it next to the 4 bed legs.

Scene 13: A few days later, the king held a ball for a few days.

Scene 14: Everyone wanted to join the king. Cam and her wicked mother also prepared
clothes for the ball.
- The king is holding a ball. Every woman and girl in the village is invited.

buổi tiệc, cái loa

Scene 15: Tam wanted to go too, but the stepmother didn't want Tam to go with her.
- You cannot go to the ball. If you want to, then separate rice
=> tấm thể hiện bản thân rất muốn đi dự lễ hội, nhưng dì ghẻ nhìn tấm khinh bỉ, lạnh
lùng bắt cô nhặt gạo và đậu. Sau đó dì ghẻ và cám cười hả hê khi thấy tấm đau khổ
cám và dì ghẻ: hả hê, cười trên nỗi đau của tấm, vui vẻ đi dự lễ hội
tấm: khóc trong đau khổ vì 1 lần nữa bị hắt hủi, ghẻ lạnh.

Scene 16: Tam cried, and the fairy man appeared once again:
- Why are you crying?
Tam pointed to the basket and said:

- The stepmother forced me to pick rice out of the paddy, then I can go to see the ball.
But by the time I have finished picking it up, the ball will already be gone, there will be
nothing left to see.

The fairy man said:

- Stop crying. You bring the basket and put it in the middle of the yard, so that I can
send sparrows down to help pick it up.
 - Yes... but if the sparrow eats it all, I will be beaten.
- Then tell them this:
"Oh sparrows come here and separate for me. If you eat it then don't ask for mercy"

As soon as the fairy man finished speaking, a flock of sparrows landed in the sky above the
yard to pick up rice to one side and paddy to the other. They were scurrying and chirping,
and in a moment they were all picked up, not missing a single seed.

Scene 17: But when the rice was picked up, the sparrows flew away, and Tam sobbed
again. The fairy man appeared again and said:

- Why are you crying?

- I look so ragged, I am afraid that people will not let me in to see the ball.
- You should dig up the jars that were buried the day before, then you will have all the
things you need for you to go to the ball.

Tam dug the jars up. The first jar was full of beautiful clothes, the second brought out a pair
of embroidered slippers, the third saw a tiny horse, but as soon as she put it on the ground, it
neighed and turned into a real one. And in the last one, Tam pulled out a set of saddles.

Scene 19: But when the horse galloped across a stone bridge to enter the citadel, Tam's
slipper suddenly fell from her feet, into the water. When the horse stopped, Tam wrapped the
other foot with a towel and squeezed into the sea of ​people.
When the king went to the bridge, the two elephants leading the group suddenly stuck their
tusks in the ground and roared, refusing to cross the bridge. So the king sent his soldiers to
search for anything strange. The soldiers then discovered there was a flower-embroidered
slipper, so they immediately picked it up and presented it to the King. The King looked at it
for a long time and complimented:
- This slipper is really exquisite, this is the first time I have seen such a beautiful
slipper ! The person wearing this must be such a beautiful woman!
The king immediately commanded to invite all the women to go try to fit the slipper, whoever
can fit it will marry the king.
- The King is trying to find the woman who wears this beautiful slipper I found at the
lake, whoever fits it will become my wife.

Scene 20: The party suddenly became lively, all women in the village tried to fit the slipper,
but no one could. Cam's mother and daughter also went to try it, but couldn't too. The
stepmother pouted:
- No way that Tam can fit the slipper, let’s see.

printed. She opened the towel and took the other slipper to fit, and the two were identical.
The servants clapped and cheered. The king immediately sent his servants to bring her into

Scene 22: Although Tam lived happily in the palace, she still did not forget her father's

her father to help her aunt.

- Please return home safely so that I don’t feel worried.

Scene 23: When Cam's mother and daughter saw Tam's return, she looked happy on the
outside, but inside, she was jealous, trying to think of a plan to harm her.

Thinking of a good plan, the stepmother told Tam:
- Your father loves to eat betel. To show your gratitude to your father, climb the betel

tree was shaking, Tam asked:

- The root is full of ants, so I chase the ants sò that they don't come up and bite you.
Before Tam had time to tear the betel leaf, the betel tree fell. Tam fell upside down in the
pond and died.

As soon as Tam came out, she took a broom to clean the house, then cooked rice, picked
vegetables in the garden to cook soup to help the old lady. When she heard the voice of the
old woman coming back from the market, Tam shrunk back into the fruit.
Every time she went to the market, the old woman also saw that the house was tidy, the
rice and soup was delicious, she was very surprised.

Scene 29: One day the old woman pretended to go to the market, but half way she went
back, she sneaked back and lurked in the bushes behind the house. Meanwhile, Tam came
out from the market and worked as usual. The old woman crept back and looked into the
gap in the door. When she saw a beautiful girl coming out of the town to clean the house,
she was so happy, she suddenly rushed in to hug Tam and tore her shell.
Since then, Tam lived with the old lady. The two of them loved each other so much like
mother and daughter. Every day, Tam helped the old woman by cooking rice, cooking water,
wrapping cakes, and making betel for her to sell.

Scene 30: One day the king was leaving the palace. Seeing that there was a clean water
stall on the roadside, he stopped in. The old woman brought betel and water offered to the

betel who did it the same way, and asked:
- Who made this betel?
- It was my daughter.- the old woman replied.
- Where is your daughter? Call her here so I can see her face.
The old woman called Tam out. As soon as she appeared, the king immediately recognized
his wife the day before, even younger and more beautiful than before. The king was
overjoyed, told the old lady his story, and then ordered servants to immediately bring the
palanquin to bring Tam to the palace. With gratitude to the old woman, the king allowed her
to come to the palace to serve her.

Scene 31: When Cam's mother and daughter saw that Tam had returned and the king
loved her as before, she couldn't help but be afraid. One day, Cam suddenly met Tam and
asked:
- Tam, Tam! How are you so beautiful?
Tam did not answer, just asked again:
- Do you want to be beautiful, let me help you!
Tam ordered her servants (tài với đức diễn servants) to dig a deep hole and boil a pot of
water. Tam told Cam to go down to the pit and then ordered his servants to pour boiling
water into the hole. Cam died immediately. Tam used Cam's body to make fish sauce and
sent it to his stepmother, saying that it was a gift from her daughter.

Scene 32: Cam's mother thought it was true, took out the fish sauce to eat, and praised
every meal. One day, a crow came from somewhere and sat on the roof of her house,
saying:

đồng thanh nói câu này)
Cam's mother was very angry, scolded loudly and then carried a pole to chase crows. But
when the day came to eat almost all, she looked at herself, and when she saw her
daughter's head, she fell and died in horror.
