Task 1/2: Reflect on how your work fits your audience (U10:LO3_AC3.1)
Please answer ALL boxes in order to pass this section. You can include screen grabs and links to help. This section is about
evaluating how your work fits the audience you have chosen to target. Answer all three questions fully with supporting
images, links and evidence of audience/survey feedback.

Choose THREE existing professional versions aimed at the same audience/genre as your work. How does yours compare to them? BE
SPECIFIC.

Example 1 of 3
URL/link, image and description
link This is from a chillhop video with a ambient loop
showing the clouds moving and cats tail.

Something your loop does as well

My loop does the same as the leaves are swinging in the video and for my ambient loop it

Something the example does better

the way that the leaves are pin pointed and able to move freely with the background blended better in layers
compared to where I was doing one of the blobs and getting the rock blended it had a white line around it that I
could fill in so it didn’t look neat
How you would improve yours based on this
Biased on this I would make them be in different layers so that I could overlay it so it can move with taking the
background away that it looks the same. Meaning that I would draw the layer around it to cover it up then get the
blob layer and put it on top that I could move it without having to worry about the background and to make it look
more professional.

Example 2 of 3
URL/link, image and description
link This is from a chillhop video with a ambient loop
showing a made up place with pink colours, water
flowing, petals falling and the light flashing.

Something your loop does as well

My loop does the same as this because it has some purple glows in this professional video similar to what my blobs have
that they have both been edited to make them more shiny and bright at some point.

Something the example does better

This example moved the clouds better than the way I move the rocks and moon because it's more of a continuous flow
That is smooth whereas in my animation I wasn’t able to move it as much because I was having troubles with getting one
Of the moons to spin around as I was finding it hard to not just get it to do side to side.
How you would improve yours based on this
I would improve mine based of this because I would get the clouds to be able to move across like the example because it
Gives it more of an effect that it’s not just a still image and makes it look softer with the sound.

Example 3 of 3
URL/link, image and description
link This is from a chillhop video with a ambient loop
showing what ideas of what I could create in my
own ambient loop because they have similarities
that could fit and would look nice from the space
theme.

Something your loop does as well

Something that this example ambient loop and mine does is that they both have the rocks move up and down with the
Planet Moving too. These are animated the same as they would have both been used to make them move around without
Moving too much to keep a good focus of the shot on.
Something the example does better
However, the example does this better because the way the rocks move is smoother have more of a floating effect to
Them compared to mine where they are only side to side, so it does not create the bounce effect. This example also does
the Stars better because it always has some glowing and then uses others in different shapes to make the larger ones
appear and disappear. This has the better effect because there is always some moving, and they do it at different times
some fade fully and some not so much.
How you would improve yours based on this
From this example I would improve mine because I would change the way the I moved my rocks so that it is similar to this
Where is has the floating effect, I would also adapt my stars to be like this where I may add more but they are different
Shapes and textures like some with a glow and some without where there are some subtle changes and some bigger ones
But it creates more of an atmosphere feeling compared to it all quickly cutting and changing at once.

Results and reflection of your survey

Show evidence of your audience feedback and reflect on what it tells you.
Show evidence of your survey results here (screen grabs/graphs/URLs/YouTube comments/other)
These results and screengrabs are in my survey evaluation above.

What patterns or trends did you notice from your audience feedback?
I noticed patterns and trends in my audience feedback that in the majority questions most answers were similar in what was
Good or what I could change and make better how people mostly had the same views in moving more rocks or adding more
Detail and the way they liked the colour or changing the smoothness of some of the transitions like the stars and that most
people believed that the background music was fitting with the loop.
What did you learn from thinking about this?
I learnt the different ways that I could see from others' views on what I could improve on myself and how I could create it to
be
Better and look at new aspects in creating more in animation to improve and seeing how I liked doing the loop to create it to
be relaxing.
How might you make improvements to your work based on what you’ve learnt from your audience? Be specific
If I were to do this again, I would make improvements on my work to be able to create more of my own as layers with also
improving on my animate Skills so that I can make better looks in the blobs and the way they move and change that from the
Thick lines in the rock making them slowly change and grow looking like its more alive and not choppy. I would also change
The stars so that I could make them slowly fade in and out instead of having them come in and out and move places as mine
Didn’t look as smooth as I had wanted it. this would then give a better twinkling star effect if I had more of them glow at once
With a simplistic look as at one point I did not have any stars in it. I would also slightly change the colouring as it fits well with
The them but to maybe and another colour or 2 that can fit in as well because it was show a difference and look like out of
space to fit the theme and time of day.

Conclusions on your audience feedback

Based on what you’ve learnt above, write about whether your feel your work is fit for your specific audience overall.
Remember to say why and prove it
Overall, from my audience feedback I have gathered that the music suited the theme and fitted in well with an ambient loop,
this was due to it relaxing the audience. My work significantly aimed towards my target audience as the theme was not
created to appeal to younger or older audience but suitable for teenagers and young adults. The loop as the focus was
essential at keeping the audience engaged but also calm background music and results showed that this technique was
appealing to them. This additionally worked as most of my feedback came back in the same general areas so that its showing
there are clear spaces people liked but also suggested what I can improve on to make my work advance. In conclusion I'm
happy with how my work came together and was presented to an audience who understood and enjoyed what I had put forth.

Task 2/2: Reflect on your own skills, processes and personal development (U10:LO3_AC3.2)
Please answer ALL sections fully in order to pass this section. You can include screen grabs and links to help. This section is
about how you feel your creative abilities and processes have improved during this assignment. Answer all sections fully
with supporting images (including your own screen grabs: CMD+SHIFT+4), links and any other evidence you feel is relevant

Talk about three issues you had during production. These could be based on practical parts of the work, supporting tasks
such as research or even audience surveys.
Getting the rock to blend into the background so that it could layer over to make
the blob about it be able to move freely. This was trouble as I had this white line
behind my final overlay as I was crying different techniques to try and cover up the
background blob.
1.

I had trouble trying to start the task with the research and finding a background that I like that wasn’t too
2.
complicated for me to find different things to move.
I had some trouble with getting enough results from my target audiences so I could write feedback and evaluate
3.
people thoughts

How/to what degree were you able to resolve each issue?

I was able to change the way I was editing to get the background to blend from going in photoshop and using the
heel tool to using in the fill tool so it made it cover it but the problem I faced after this was because their was a
1.
line behind the picture that is still visible that I wasn’t able to get rid of that I had to leave it as I didn’t have the
time to change it after I had exported it.
I was able to resolve this because I had different chats with people who helped give me ideas and I was able to
2.
use my creative ideas to put them from a theme and from something that I had like onto something myself.
I was able to work around this because I had sent it to various places around college on chats and sent it out to
3. family members, I then decided that I needed more replies, so I had sent it out online to groups that I'm in and
was able to get more helpful responses

Write about at least three things which well during the whole process?
Talk about what you felt went particularly well about them.
Adding the blobs to the rocks went well because it added something to my ambient loop this helped change the
1. way they it was looked at by the audience because it gave more realistic to the setting. This created a mysterious
feel and I felt that it made the overall outcome better.
Adding The stars and the effects that I put on them went well because it helped bring out the atmosphere and
the different colours and glow the stars were brining off. I felt that this went really well to end the process of the
2.
ambient loop because it helped in getting to bring more out in the sky and the colours that had refectected off of
it with the glow as they fitted with the rock colours.
Adding the glow and lighting went well because it was a skill that I knew how to use but helped the effect to
present to the audience with understanding the time or mysterious feel it can give off. I felt this was good as it
3.
helped the glow bring out something to the blobs making it uneasy in the ambient loop to give off the vibe that its
moving and not still helping the background with what you could vision on a space planet like that.

And finally, write a small amount about what you enjoyed about the project which you could possibly use in future work
or assignments. This could be from research, design or your practical production process. Feel free to use screen grabs.
I enjoyed being able to come up with the idea of the blobs being inside of the rocks making them become bigger and
smaller as it had an effect on them that they were more alive. With this adding the glow onto them it added the extra
effect that I liked because I used it in aftereffects that I would do again to make it have a different texture in it to be seen
in a different way to the audience.
Using aftereffects for different ways in the ambient loop is what I could use again with the different colour for the stars
making them have a glow but an out of space theme vibrance off of it this would be good as other projects to help gain
attention of audiences for it to stick with them. With this the colour of the sky changing making it too fit into the mood
of the scene to set the timing of day helping the audience to understand what they are seeing.
I would also use the techniques of an overlay from having a picture form to creating something on top this would be
useful in different media aspects because I could use pictures to drawing to affects all on top making different layers
having it create a distinctive look too see if it makes it more 3d.
