Procedures:
Introductory Activity(5 min.) In this activity, the teacher applies knowledge of content within and
across curriculum teaching areas.(1) Newspapers vs. websites
Ask learners to give the key points about the activity of the previous
lesson which was traditional media and new media and their
relationships.
State the objectives of the lesson.
The teacher uses a range of teaching strategies that enhance learner
achievement in literacy and or numeracy skills (2) newspapers (Php 20.00)
less internet charge (Php 10.00) / hour = Php 10.00
Activity(15 min) The teacher manages classroom structure to engage learners
individually or in groups in meaningful exploration discovery and hands-on
activities within a range of physical learning environments.(4)
The class shall be divided into two groups.
1. Each group will do brainstorming about the roles and
functions of media in democratic society including the right
for freedom of expression of media and the right of
individual for private life.
2. Discuss the shared ideas of every group to the class.
Analysis(5 min) The teacher applies a range of teaching strategies to develop critical
and creative thinking, as well as other higher-order skills.(3)
Why do mass media have a watchdog role as the eyes, ears, and
voices of the audience?

Abstraction(10 min) Roles of media in democratic society: The teacher manages learner
behavior constructively by applying positive and non-violent discipline to
ensure learning-focused environments.(5)

maladministration and corporate wrong doing.

while respecting pluralistic values.
Application(15 min) The teacher plans, manages and implements developmentally
sequenced teaching and learning processes to meet curriculum
requirements and varied teaching contexts.(7)
The class shall be divided into 2 groups. And there shall be one
moderator. The teacher shall be the presiding judge.
Debate this topic, the right for freedom of expression of media
versus the right of individual for private life.
Assessment Method: The teacher selects, develops, organizes, and uses, appropriate
