Material: plastic straw, dice
Procedure:
Divide the class into two groups.
Let each group form a circle.
Provide each player with ten plastic drinking straws.
In each group, a player throws a dice and lays the number of straws shown on the die.
Repeat the same up to the last player.
If aplayer has only one straw left, he or she must wait until the die cast shows one.
The first one who finishes laying all his straws is the winner.
Repeat the activity as desired.
Learners associate numbers with sets having objects from 0-10.

Materials: pencil, writing paper with dotted numerals 0-5, sand paper numerals 0-5.
Procedure:
1. Ask the learners to trace the sandpaper numerals with their index and middle fingers
together.
2. Ask the learners to say the numbers while tracing their shape with their fingers.
3. Ask the learners to identify the numerals on the writing paper randomly.
4. Ask the learners to connect the dots of the numerals 0-5 using the right stroke.
5. After tracing, ask the learners to write the numerals on their own.
Number 5 Mosaic
Competency:

Procedure:
1. Learners write or trace a big numeral 5 on their sheets of paper.
2. Learners paste cut out colored papers on the outline.
3. Learners may use one color or as many colors as they wish.

Materials: fish cut-outs (that have the numbers 1-10 written on them) with paper clips
attached, one fishing rod with magnet at the end of the string, blue mat as fishing area
Procedure:
1. In the designated fishing area, learners stand outside the blue mat and take turns in
catching fish with their fishing rods.
2. When learners catch a fish, they say the number written on the fish and do actions
equivalent to the number (e.g. jump 5 times, clap their hands 6 times, and so on.
