I. OBJECTIVES:
Cognitive : Find the perimeter of any given closed figure.
Affective : Develop the love for Math among the learners through a story.
Psychomotor : Measure the perimeter of any given closed figure using appropriate
tools.

III. PROCEDURE:
A. Preliminary Activities (Day 1)
1. Drill
-Conduct a drill on adding and multiplying numbers mentally.

2. Review
-Ask what unit of measurement and measuring tool is appropriate for the
following:
- distance between buildings - length of a ballpen
- sides of a handkerchief - edge of a table
- length of a safety pin - sides of the blackboard

3. Motivation

 -“Who is your favorite Filipino Super hero?”, “What kind of power is
he/she has?”, “If you will be given a chance to become a super hero, who
would it be?”, “How are you going to help other people?”

“What do you think did Pery do to become a Super hero?”

B. Developmental Activities
1. Unlocking of difficulties
- Look at the words and the pictures below. Draw a line to connect word with
the correct picture.

-Recall the standards when listening to a story.

- Ask the pupils to listen to a story entitled: “Super Pery”

Group 1 – Using a Semantic Web, write all the characteristics of Pery.

3. Performing the Activity

-Group the class into three. Give them activity sheets containing pictures. Let
them measure each side of the pictures. Let them display their outputs and ask them to
discuss their answers.

V. ENRICHMENT ACTIVITY
- Read, analyze and solve the word problem.

The tablecloth of a reading table in your classroom has a length of 95 cm and a width
of 55 cm. your group is assigned to decorate the table cloth by putting lace around it. How
many centimeters of lace do they need?
