CASE STORY TITLE: A Better Alternative for the Youth of Barangay Maligalig

Conflict Identification
Barangay Maligalig currently facing several problems with regards to its people specifically the
youth. Some of the teenagers in the barangay are addicted to illegal activities such as solvents,
illegal drug usage and smoking which are restricted to the minors.
Another issue is that these minor youths are trying to recruit other youths and they use violence if
the other youths do not join them. These illegal activities is very harmful to people especially to
the youths due to its harmful effects that may cause injuries or even death.

Plan of Action
To mitigate these kinds of problems, the barangay officials need to implement project that will
help their youth such as implementation of recreational activities and other things that will be able
to help their youths to cope up in these harmful situations. As a result, the youths will be able to
have more friends allowing them to care for one another and they will relate to each other’s lives.

Reflection
In this activity, I realize that malnutrition and poverty have a huge impact on child’s development.
The government should give an effective solution to minimize these kinds of problems. We must
help ourselves and also our country to be a productive community in order for us to have a better
future.
