(1) All seven team leaders are to think of a name for your team in 10 to 15
minutes and come forward to let me know after you have finalized your group
name.
(2) All team leaders have to come forward to draw one slot bearing the name of
the exhibition you team leader had lucky drawn for all members to visit other
than COMPULSORY EXHIBITION 1 each team MUST visit during the
National Gallery Learning Journey.

(3) Every third person in each of the seven teams above are to inform
Victoria during the day of the learning journey at the National Gallery 1
-2 art pieces that each team has taken a photograph of, and decided to
use these pictures taken for their team oral presentation which will take
place on the first lesson of January 2023, 3 January 2023. Victora, you
will need to check that no team is selecting any artworks that are the
same as one another. If any one or two teams are choosing the same art
piece, you are in charge of informing the leaders to re-select another art
piece different from the other teams. I suggest you form a chat group on
your mobile phone with all the third person in every team so that it is
easier for you to monitor and take necessary action to text the party
concerned.

One of our destinations for this Learning Journey is National Gallery Singapore.
As the name speaks for itself, all of you will be visiting a museum. There are a
few things you need to note before you embark on your National Gallery
Singapore Learning Journey this Thursday, 22 December 2022.

ETIQUETTE. You need to observe the DOs and DON’Ts in terms of
behaviour and your attire when you are at the gallery.
Under Dress Code, it is mentioned that there is no dress code. However,
this only applies to non-school students. YOU ARE EXPECTED TO
WEAR FULL UNIFORM OR HALF UNIFORM on the day of National
Gallery Singapore Learning Journey. The reason is you have to show
that you are to show yourself as a local government school student in
your attire AND you need to produce your Student Pass to prove that
you are an approved local school student studying here in Singapore
BEFORE you are allowed FREE ENTRY into National Gallery
Singapore.

Since you are wearing your school uniform, please do not embarrass
yourself or your school displaying undesirable behaviour at the Gallery
(2) Before you go to the National Gallery Singapore this Thursday, 22
December 2022, ALL OF YOU have to download the audio APP. Click
on “PLAN YOUR VISIT” at the top of the webpage on your laptop and
click on “GALLERY EXPLORER APP” on the scroll down list.

(3) How to download the self-guided tour app for National Gallery
Singapore?
(a) Go to Google Play icon on your mobile phone and click on it.
(b) Type the name “national gallery singapore” on the search bar
and press enter
(c) The “Gallery Explorer National Gallery Singapore” APP will
appear. It is a RED icon. Click on it to install on your mobile
phone.
(d) Open the APP. Click on “Plan my visit” Click on “Tours” icon
at the top of the APP.

(1) First, every member in each group, please visit

laptop and study the map so that you know where National Gallery
Singapore is located.
(2) Download the Gallery Map on the same webpage so that you know the
whereabouts of the exhibition halls at every level of National Gallery
Singapore and check up the website, the location of the Exhibitions 1
and Exhibition 2 on the Gallery Map.
(3) Discuss with all members, how all of you want to navigate the two
exhibitions after you have found out where they are located. You need
to draw up a walk plan and discuss how much time you are spending
at each exhibition.

‘My Masterpiece Gallery Presentation

(1) During your visit to National Gallery Singapore, take photographs of three
artworks of your group’s choice from the two exhibitions you visit, with at least
one from the 21st Century and one from before 21st Century.
(2) Create a video presentation (each member MUST participate in speaking)
(a) What each artwork depicts (describe it in detail using descriptive
language)
(b) The background/history of the artwork/artist behind the artwork/how the
artwork was created and completed.
(c) At least two reasons why you chose the artwork. Explain its visual or
symbolic significance to you or your group. What you have found
interesting about the artwork, etc.
Grading Criteria:
Relevance of content: 30 marks
Language: 30 marks
Educational value and entertainment value: 10 marks
Total : 70 marks
Before our National Gallery Singapore Learning Journey this Thursday, remember
to

(1) Wear full uniform. This means formal school shirt and shorts for the
boys with your school logo on your breast pocket and formal blouse and
pinafore skirt for the girls. Please bring a sweater along as the National
Gallery SIngapore is quite cold after being in there for two hours.
(2) YOU MUST BRING YOUR STUDENT PASS TO GET FREE
ADMISSION INTO THE MUSEUM. IF YOU FORGET TO BRING
YOUR STUDENT PASS, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING
THE TOURIST ADMISSION FEE AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE!!!
(3) You have to bring your mobile phone together with a set of earphones to
listen to the self-guided audio when you go for the self-guided tour OR
ELSE YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO HEAR ANYTHING WITHOUT
YOUR EARPHONES.
(4) Bring your

(d) wet towel to wipe your face and tissue paper to be used when you are
eating.
