Heredity

is the passing of traits from parents to their offspring, either through asexual
reproduction or sexual reproduction. This is the process by which an offspring cell or organism
acquires or becomes predisposed to the characteristics of its parent cell or organism.

Is intelligence inherited?
Today, researchers generally agree that heredity and environment have an interactive
influence on intelligence. Many researchers believe that there is a reaction range to IQ,
which refers to the limits placed on IQ by heredity. Heredityplaces an upper and lower
limit on the IQ that can be attained by a given person.

What is the difference between heredity and environment?

Defects can come from two sources: genetic heredity from your parents,
andenvironmental exposure to drugs, chemicals, radiation, biological organisms and
heat, as well as poor nutrition. Both hereditary and environmentally-caused defects are
usually apparent at birth
