За місце на панелі приладів (ПП) одночасно борються засоби навігації,

комп’ютерне обладнання, функції аудіосистеми та стандартні прилади . Це
створює проблеми для дизайнерів та інженерів, яким потрібно зберегти ПП
простою, щоб водій не відволікався на занадто багато кнопок та
інструментів. Клієнти також ототожнюють просторий інтер’єр з розкішшю –
це ще одна причина, чому ПП не повинен виглядати переповненим.
Дизайнери намагаються вирішити проблему різними способами. Вони
зменшують розміри «пожирателей простору», таких як системи опалення та
охолодження, або навіть повністю видаляють їх із ПП, помістивши їх під
сидіння або в багажник. Вони також містять багато функцій, наприклад,
кнопки попереднього налаштування станцій для аудіосистем, на сенсорних
екранах. Сенсорні екрани економлять місце на ПП, але все ще існує
