GUIDELINES ON THE CONDUCT OF HOME VISITATION

1. In pursuant to DepEd Memorandum No 291 s. 2008 state that a teacher with six
(6) hours of actual classroom teaching and/or equivalent teaching related activities
and duties shall render the remaining two (2) hours of work within or outside the
school premises to comply with the eight-hour workday by engaging in the
following teaching- related activities and duties; one of the activities suggested
outside the school premises is the counseling, mentoring, coaching of students
including home visits.

2. Teachers are supposed to help their pupils cope with the challenges of the COVID
19 pandemic by providing them with support. Teachers might employ Home
Visitation as one of their methods.

3. Here are some of the objectives/ importance of conducting home visitation to


learners:
a. As teachers, you will get to know your learners.
b. Help teachers in assessing learners’ needs and learning status.
c. Create positive communication and build relationship between teachers and
learners’ families for extending support.
d. Increase parents’ involvement in their child’s education.
e. Strengthen home-school partnership.
f. Monitoring of PARDO (Pupils-at-Risk of Dropping-Out)

4. As a means of providing documentation, the teacher is required to prepare a Home


Visitation Agreement Form that must be signed by the parent.
