Task/Activity: Narrative Report# 5

As a saying goes, exercise to stimulate, not to annihilate. The world was not formed in a day and neither
were we. Set small goals and build upon them. During this pandemic, recreation activities had been
prohibited to avoid the spreading of virus. But it does not mean that we are lack of wellness, neither we
need to be more physically, emotionally, and mentally healthy to fight back against these odds. Allocate
time for yourself and have faith in God. As another day in this world, means hope and think that you
have purpose in life.

Last meeting, our professor explained the new interrelated topic of dimension of development which is
recreation, physical fitness and wellness. She discussed the main concept of recreation-pertains to
activities done for leisure to promote a person's well-being and growth. Also, she mentioned the
characteristics of recreation and how it explained the nature of recreation. Afterwards, she proceeds to
the physical fitness and discussed the concept and nature behind the topic. There are five components
of physical fitness includes cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance,
flexibility, and body composition. Also, our professor enumerated the benefits and advantages of doing
regular physical activities. Lastly, our professor gives us an oral recitation about the dimensions of well-
being which includes; physical, emotional, financial, social, occupational, purpose, intellectual and
environmental. The instruction of the activity was to pick among those dimensions that we are rich on.
Based on my observation, majority of the class choose physical, emotional and social aspect. In
addition, she gives her feedbacks about the activity and discuss the remaining dimensions of well-being.
We end the meeting by discussing the complex topic of covid vaccine.

Wellness to me is the process of living on purpose. By this I mean consciously choosing the physical,
emotional, mental and spiritual means, which keep me aligned with a life of joy and meaning. Activities
that used to give me a rush of momentary pleasure are weighed against their effect on the steadily
growing satisfaction of continuous gracefulness. It is evolving a lifestyle with a purpose to it, a lifestyle
with which I identify as my best vehicle possible on the road of life. Above all wellness is a choice to live
consciously and grow daily. Wellness is my gift of self-love.
