NARRATIVE REPORT

Activity 1 Tour Guiding Competition

Our event for activity 1 is Tour Guiding Competition at LNU. My first experience
in handling an online competition was a good start because this event is pre-
recorded. We prepare so much before the competition, start planning about
when, what and how our event should be. We came up a solution on how we can
convince any participants who wants to join by sharing our posters and
guidelines from our social media accounts.

As we fast-approaching from the event, we had a meeting face to face with our
student organizer. We discuss on how we can contact our judges and the
participants in the competition. We also talked about the rules and guidelines on
our online event. I am assigned to message and send an invitation letter to the
judges and to double-check the videos of the participating contestants. On the
event day, we look for a house and a laptop to use for the live streaming and
looking for available wifi. Before the event starts, we also try to dry run our event
in Facebook before we go live. Our online event has been successfully done by
our efforts with the help of student organizer.

Generally I have a great experience in this kind of event even though I’m not that
good in this field but I try so much to gain more knowledge and skills that will be
useful in the near future.

Tour Guiding Competition from the event title itself it was complex and a huge
activities and responsibilities to be faced by organizer of this event.

NARRATIVE REPORT

Acitivity 2 Menu Engineering Webinar

Online Webinar forum is not new for me I handle some webinar in the past Event
so for me I never face any difficulties in handling this Menu Engineering Webinar
that the Organizer cannot handle. Past Experience is really a helpful for an event
organizer it thought you so much during the event.

During the Webinar I’m assign in a Technical Committee where I play and lead
the overall duration of the event, it was easy since that PPT is already pattern
and you only click to the next pages but make sure you will based what the
emcee is talking about.
It was great experience at the same time it was a nervous experience since I’m
not that techy. For me, the needs for the improvements are the techy of Zoom
Meeting in order to be easy for the organizer to manage some difficulties during
the Event,
Generally my experience of this event thought me so much that expect the
unexpected in every event that we will handling, and do Plan A-Z but whatever
happen always make do to solve that problems immediately and to be successful
of the event.

8. Post Event Evaluation Report (write/include your new learning in

event management, skills that needs to be honed, upgraded, etc)

Generally I have a great experience in this kind of event even

though I’m not that good in this field but I try so much to gain more knowledge
and skills that will be useful in the near future. We prepare before the event
because we’re looking first for the speaker for our event because it the most
important because the speaker will be one who will present and discuss about
how menu engineering works in hospitality management. Our participants are
from BSHM students from LNU who are interested on our webinar. Our venue for
the event is in a café because we need faster connection since we’re in
Facebook live and using ZOOM. Our speaker is a Filipina who is currently based
in U.A.E. and friend with one of the organizers. Our event was smooth run
because we didn’t have any problems operating and organizing our event. We
start the event on-time and ends it successfully. Our participant are actively
listening to our speaker and after the forum, the participants asked the speaker
one by one with their prepared questions.
