How did you know about us? / Why do you want to work for us?

I have a friend who works for the company and he recommended that I
apply for this job.

He told me that it’s a good company to work for, because there is lots of
teamwork and I like to work in a team.

I want to work in an international company, I enjoyed working at the

airport where I met lots of international customers, colleagues and
friends.

I have experience representing an international company, for example

when I worked for Unlimited Vacations, an international hotel brand.

University
I would like to finish my studies, but the reason to finish them is for a
career.
However, if I have a job in the communications area, and opportunities
to develop in the company, I would only return to the studies if the
company asked me to.

Why do you want to work in customer service/a call centre

For me, I like to talk with people, it doesn’t matter if it’s face to face or
with a phone.

Why should we hire you in our company? / strengths

1) I like talking to new people and I am a good communicator

For example, I used to work in an international airport.

One of my jobs was to conduct targeted consumer research to
30-60 year old couples.

I worked for an international hotel brand and I had to follow four

steps to advertise the hotel brand to potential customers.

In this job, I had to talk to strangers arriving in the airport, so I am

used to speaking to lots of people in one day.

Also, I was a manager in the sunglasses hut.

It was my responsibility to speak to customers who had

problems, so I have some experience at resolving live problems.

I studied communication at University, so I always wanted to work

in the communication industry.

2) I like working in a team

For example, when I managed the sunglasses hut, we had sales

targets. I created a team environment to help everyone sell.

I managed a team of five in my store, and I was responsible for

organising payments and their schedules.

In my first job, I worked well with my colleagues and when one

became a manager, they recommended me to manage another
store.

3) I am persistent

For example, in my previous job if a potential client said no I would

try again and try to convince them about our hotel.

As you can imagine, the job involved a lot of rejection, but I

consider myself a confident person and I would keep asking
potential customers all day.
I really enjoy the moment when you can sell your product to a
customer, when you know it is good for the company but also
makes a difference to them.

Weaknesses

1) I am a perfectionist
For example when I worked in the Sunglasses Hut I wanted
everything perfect in the store.
When I worked for the international hotel and a potential
customer rejected me, I tried to analyse what I did wrong, or
how I could improve my next interaction.

2) I feel good at listening to English, I am used to

communicating with English speaks (for example at the
airport we had a lot of American tourists), and I am confident
in my reading and writing .
However, I am not always confident in speaking English..
But I practiced a lot when I worked in the airport, and I am
taking three English classes per week with a native
speaker, because I want to work in English in my career.

How would you handle an angry/upset customer? Or a

customer yelling/shouting at you?

First, I let the customer speak, I won’t interrupt them. I will let them
finish.
Then I let the customer know how much I care about their
situation.
If there are any specific company protocols, I will follow these.
Otherwise, I will try to work with them to find a solution.
For example, when I was the manager of sunglasses hut….

I remember one time….

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Firstly, I am settled in Puebla. I like living in the city, I have friends

here, I am planning to stay in Puebla.

I am an ambitious person and I take opportunities that appear. So,

if I worked for your company I would aim to get promoted and have
some management position if possible.

For example, when I worked at the Sunglasses Hut, I was initially

an Assistant Manager. But I am ambitious and I worked hard and
when there was an opportunity to become a manager, I worked
hard to become a manager.

Do you have any call center experience?

I haven’t any experience working in a call centre, but I have a lot of

experience talking with anyone.

I worked in the Sunglasses Hut, selling products to customers, so I

have sales experience.
I worked for an international hotel company, which gave me experience
talking to strangers promoting their company.
I am having English lessons virtually for 4 months so I am gaining
more experience communicating in English online.

I also worked in a cafe in Tlaxcala helping my friend. I took orders

for delivery so I have some experience talking on the phone with
customers.

Do you have any questions?

Because of Covid, I am wondering if I will be based in an office or I
can work from home - both are fine, I just want to know?

Why did you leave your previous job?

I worked at an international airport in a store, and because of the

pandemic we had fewer customers, so the company decided to
close the store until the pandemic finished. So, I lost my job.

Since I left, I have been working as a free-lancer.

From my experiences in Sunglasses Hut, where I managed the
social media and visual merchandising, I used these skills to help
my friend with his cafe’s menu, social media and layout.

But, I miss working with people and communicating with new

people, so I want to work again in a company where I can use my
communication skills.
