I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to:
A. identify the objects that starts with letter D;
B. Write correctly the Capital letter D and small letter d; and
C. Appreciate the importance of letter B through an activity called Draw me.

II. Subject matter


A. Topic: Letter D
B. Reference: [Link]
C. Material: pictures, videos, PowerPoint presentation, bond paper, tracing
sheets
D. Integration: After identifying the objects that start with letter D, pupils could
also practice their skills in arts.

III. Procedure

Preliminary Activity
Good morning class! Good morning teacher!
Now let’s stand for the prayer, bow down your
head, close your eyes and follow after me.

How are you this morning? We’re good!

A. Motivation
To formally start our lesson, let’s play “find me”.
(The teacher will show a picture and pupils are
going to find the letter D in it)

B. Activity
Class, do you want to play a game? Yes, teacher.

(The teacher divides the class into 4 groups


and each group will be given work sheets.)
You are going to encircle the objects that start
with letter D. When you are done, paste your Yes, teacher.

alphabet but this morning we will focus first to the
letter D.

Letter D is the fourth letter in the alphabet. So,
this picture shows capital letter D and this one is
the small letter b.

Children at the back can you see this?

Okay, let’s say this is the mommy D and this is


the baby d.
So, the sound of D is “dah”

Everyone says “dah”

Again! Yes! Teacher.

Mommy letter D and baby letter d says

d,d,d,d,d

everybody sings with me! “dah”

So, in order for you to know, I have here a Video.

Okay, point your pencils at the top and make a d,d,d,d,d


line down. Then go back to the top and make a
curve up to the blue line.

Okay, let’s do it again, down, curve.

Now, who wants to try here at the board?

Wow! Nice work princess.

Next, we are going to write a small “d” or shall we


say baby letter d. From blue line, make a line
down to blue line then back to the red line, draw a
curve down to the blue line. I want to try teacher.

Kurt, please draw a small letter d here at the


board.

E. Application

Now class drawing time! I have here bond papers


and all you need to do is to draw a thing that
starts with letter D. Then at the top of the paper
write capital letter D and small letter d.
