Second Grade Newsletter
February, 2023

Winter Edition

The month of February is going to be filled with lots of

fun activities and brand new topics when it comes to math
and reading, specifically money! We’ll also be hosting a
Valentine’s Day party, there is no need for anyone to buy
anything!

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN CLASS EXTRACURRICULARS

This is where math becomes a little more
fun and more relevant. Our class is going to
start learning about money and the different
amounts and aspects of it. We will use fake
money for our lessons and they’ll learn how
to keep count of it all. The students will
learn how to add and subtract the different
amounts of money. At the end of this lesson,
we might have a fun project that’ll go along
with it as well! We’ll also be getting ready to
start sending out flyers and sign up sheets
for our fundraiser.
We will be hosting our annual fundraiser
soon help with all our clubs and sports! The
fundraiser will consist of raffle tickets and a
bake sale. The fundraiser will be held at any
event where a sport is playing so you won’t
want to miss it!
There are still sign ups for upcoming sports
including basketball, baseball, softball, and
track! Anyone is able to join and it’ll be
great for our school
spirit!
