Our webinar has a theme “Going Back to Normal: Practicing the Safety Operation in School

Prior to the Implementation of F2F Classes”. The speaker shows us his first topic which is
the DepEd Guidelines on the Implementation of Limited Face-to-Face Learning Modality.
Since COVID-19 has greatly affected all sectors in our country, the Department of Education
adopt which is the most appropriate delivery modalities for their learners. The department
provide a Joint Memorandum Circular as a guide for the safe implementation of the limited
face-to-face classes and to improve learning outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic. This
implementation seeks to deliver quality basic education in a safe learning environment to
learners in low-to minimal-risk areas; address the teaching and learning gaps encountered in
the distance learning modalities; and strengthen the school-community health and safety
support system for all children. Also, Dr. Nanong presented the Contingency Plans in
Response to COVID-19 Health Emergency of his school, Paaralang Sekundarya ng Lukban.
This contingency plan has been designed around four operating areas focused on PSLIS
community. These are the Health protection and safety measures, infrastructures and
facilities, teaching and learning process, and Internal and external communication. He said
that once the plan is implemented, members of the academic community like the students,
parents, teachers and staff are obliged to comply with it strictly, carrying out the measures
contained therein with awareness and responsibility, respecting the guidelines given to them
and adopting individual behaviors that do not put at risk their own health or that of others.
