SPEAKING PART 1

I- HOW TO SAY, WHAT TO SAY – TOPIC: BIRTHDAYS & CELEBRATIONS

1. Sinh nhật là một cách tuyệt vời để kỷ niệm cuộc đời mà bạn đã sống cho đến nay và
hướng tới tương lai. Đây là thời điểm để nhìn lại năm vừa qua và đặt mục tiêu cho năm sắp
tới. Ngoài ra, đó là một lý do tuyệt vời (ie. lời biện minh tuyệt vời) để gặp gỡ bạn bè và gia
đình và có một khoảng thời gian vui vẻ.

2. Tôi nghĩ rằng khi tôi càng lớn lên, ngày sinh nhật của tôi càng trở nên ít quan trọng hơn.
Điều tôi muốn nói là tôi không còn mong chờ những bữa tiệc sinh nhật và mặc những bộ
quần áo đặc biệt như khi tôi còn nhỏ.

3. Tôi nghĩ rằng trong ngày sinh nhật, việc dành thời gian cho những người gần gũi nhất với
tôi và những người đã ở bên tôi trong suốt cả năm qua là một việc quan trọng. Tôi cũng
thích mời một vài người bạn đến tham dự một buổi tiệc nhỏ hoặc cùng ăn tối. Bằng cách
đó, tôi có thể tận hưởng sự đồng hành của cả gia đình và bạn bè trong ngày đặc biệt của
mình.

SPEAKING PART 2 – TOPIC: DESCRIBE AN EVENT

1.1. Chủ đề cụ thể:

Đề tài ‘Describe an event’ thường bao gồm những chủ đề cụ thể hơn như sau:

• An important event in your life

• A festival in your country

• A party

• A celebration

• A sports event that you watched

• A concert or musical event

Một điểm thuận lợi khi học về các chủ đề miêu tả về người, nơi chốn và đồ vật trước là
chúng ta có thể sử dụng lại ngôn ngữ của những chủ đề này để nói về chủ đề event (sự
kiện). Một sự kiện xảy ra bao giờ cũng liên quan đến những người khác, xảy ra tại một nơi
chốn nào đó, và liên quan đến các đồ vật chẳng hạn như thiết bị.

1.2. BỐ CỤC BÀI NÓI:

Đề bài (Topic Card) về chủ đề Describe an event thường được dựa trên các câu hỏi: what,
where, who, why, chẳng hạn như:

Sample Answer 01:

Well, the wedding ceremony I want to share with you was my best friend Michael’s. It was
the first time I had been a best man.

Michael and I have been close friends since childhood. We have known each other for more
than two decades. When he invited me to be his best man, I agreed without any hesitation.

We had a memorable and busy day back then, which was in last October. The ceremony
procedure was quite conventional, just like others; the bride and groom said vows, bowed
down to parents, proposed toasts, took photos with guests and so on.

Since we met a lot of friends, we turned the wedding into a big reunion party; everyone had
a good time. That was a beautiful memory.

At the very beginning, I was quite nervous since I have never been a best man before, and
it seemed like I was going to have a big day. Before the ceremony, we had laboriously
decorated and planned everything. During the ceremony, the couple recalled their love
journey; they were bonding together after experiencing all sorts of ups and downs, and I
was deeply touched and moved. As their best friend, I wanted to express my overwhelming
love and best wishes to them. Eventually, we all got drunk, and it was one of the most
unforgettable moments of my life.

That’s the wedding ceremony I’m happy to tell you about.

VOCAB HIGHLIGHTS:

Sample Answer 02:

I’m going to describe my sister’s wedding day, which took place a few years ago in the town
where I grew up. For my sister it was the biggest and most important day of her life.

I think there were around 100 people at the marriage ceremony, which was held in a
church. Even more people came to the party, or the wedding reception as we call it, after
the ceremony. Of course, most members of my family were there, as well as the groom’s
family and a collection of the bride and groom's friends and colleagues.

To make the celebration special, we did what families normally do. My mother made sure
that the church and the reception venue were nicely decorated - there were flowers
everywhere! Obviously we all dressed for the occasion, and there were bridesmaids, gifts, a
huge wedding cake, and so on.

I enjoyed the occasion because it was great to see my sister so happy on her big day. The
ceremony was perfect, and we all had a fantastic time at the reception. It’s rare for me to
see all of my family and friends together in one place, so that’s probably what made the day
so memorable for me.
