DAY:
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content The learners demonstrate understanding of how these feedback mechanisms help the organism
Standards maintain homeostasis to reproduce and survive.
B. Performance Describe how the nervous system coordinates and regulates these feedback mechanism to maintain
Standards homeostasis.
C. Learning At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
Competencies / 1. Determine what is central nervous system, and negative feedback mechanism.
Objectives 2. Identify the effect of negative feedback mechanism
(Write the LC 3. Appreciate the importance of feedback mechanisms help the organism maintain
code for each) homeostasis to reproduce and survive.

These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so that students well learn well. Always be guided by demonstration of
learning by the students which you can infer from formative assessment activities. Sustain learning systematized by providing students with multiple ways to
IV. PROCEDURE learn new things, practice their learning, question their learning processes and drew conclusion about what they learned in relation to their life experiences and
previous knowledge. Indicate the time allotment for each step.
The students answer the following questions based from their previous topic
1. Do you have any idea about nervous system?
A. Reviewing previous
2. The nervous system is responsible for the release of chemicals in the body to perform
lesson or presenting
different processes in the body. - FALSE
the new lesson
3. Neurons is known as the basic unit of the nervous system. – TRUE
(Elicit)
4. How about the negative feedback mechanism of homeostasis?
The system carries information to and from central nervous system. What is this?
Student answers:
Peripheral Nervous system (PNS)
The system is the part of the peripheral nervous system that helps with the voluntary control of body
movements. What is this?
Student answers:
Somatic Nervous System (SNS)
D. Discussing new
concepts and
practicing new skills
#1 (Explore)
Why is negative
feedback often aasociated with maintaining homeotasis?
Student answer:
Homeostasis is generally maintained by a negative feedback loop that includes a stimulus, sensor,
control center, and effector. Negative feedback serves to reduce an excessive response and to keep a
variable within the normal range. Negative feedback loops control body temperature and the blood
glucose level.
Nervous System
The nervous system includes the brain, spinal cord, and a complex network of nerves. This system
sends messages back and forth between the brain and the body. The brain is what controls all the
body's functions. The spinal cord runs from the brain down through the back.
Homeostasis
Is any self-regulating process by which an organism tends to maintain stability while adjusting to
conditions that are best for its survival. If homeostasis is successful, life continues; if it's
unsuccessful, it results in a disaster or death of the organism.
Central Nervous system.
Receives and process all of the information from all parts of the body
E. Discussing new Controls the entire organ system of the body

#2 (Explore) The peripheral nervous system is divided into two main parts:
Autonomic nervous system (ANS): Controls involuntary bodily functions and regulates
glands.
Somatic nervous system (SNS): Controls muscle movement and relays information from
ears, eyes and skin to the central nervous system.
