Electrocution Access and egress arrangements to be determined prior to commencement of work.
Burns Access to the work area must be restricted to authorised persons only.
Fire Disconnection and Isolation procedures to be followed at all times. (See H&S Policy)
Lock devices to be used to prevent energisation of the installation.
Notices posted warning that installation work in progress and prohibiting energisation.
Electricity supply must be isolated and proved to be dead. NO LIVE WORKING.
All drawings and specifications required are at hand and understood.
All persons involved in the job are fully aware of the hazards and the safety precautions that
must be taken.
Other hazards must be considered and appropriate control measures put in place.
Reference should be made to the risk assessment for the access method used.
Only use 110v or battery operated power tools to be used on site.

Be aware of the emergency arrangements in case of electrocution.


Be aware of the fire precaution procedures on site.
Work is to be carried out within a closed, weather proof environment on a standard electrical
installation only.
During testing and commissioning access to the work area will be restricted to authorized
persons only. Warning signage will be displayed.
Only competent, appropriately trained, experienced, knowledgeable persons to undertake the
work, who understand the safe working practices and the equipment on which they are
working. (NICEIC approved)
All testing equipment is suitable for the job and properly maintained.
All tools and testing instruments are insulated.
All tools and testing instruments must be calibrated annually.
Such work must be closely supervised to ensure that the appropriate safe system of work are
operated at all times in order to prevent danger.
Appropriate precautions will be taken to prevent testers coming into accidental contact with
exposed live parts.
Ensure all electrical equipment and installations are left safe on completion of work.
Follow all safe working procedures as detailed within the H&S Policy.

document.

Electrocution PROVE ‘DEAD’ AND LOCK OFF ALL POTENTIAL POWER SUPPLIES.
