LESSON PROPER
Procedure Activities
 Get the strips of paper under your desk.
 On the strips of paper is their group number and phrases which will
be connected to form a sentence.
 Find your groupmates and connect all the phrases. Select group
representative to present and explain their ideas about the
statement.
 The following statements are:
The Central Nervous System serves as the main processing
center for the nervous system.

Somatic nervous system is associated with the voluntary control

of body movements.

Autonomic nervous system controls the involuntary control of

body movements.

Nervous system is a network that relays messages back and

forth from the brain to various parts of the body.

The nervous system is assisted by the five sense organs – the

eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin.

Engage  Present the topic for the day.

 Project/post and read the objectives of the lesson.

 Divide the class into five groups.
 Study each set of diagrams showing different organs of the human
body given by your teacher. Then, determine which organ does not
belong to the group by naming it. Lastly, explain why the organ
should not be included in the group.
 The following pictures are:

 A video about the endocrine system will be played. By watching

the video, they can evaluate their answers in previous activity.
Explore  With the same groupings, list the possible glands or organs in the
strips of paper mentioned in the video.
 Select another member of the group to present their output in class.
 Describe the function of endocrine system.
 Introduce the different major endocrine glands and their function.

Annotation:
This part of the lesson shows a learner-centered approach. In their previous activity, they
classify different organisms. Some of the students didn’t have prior knowledge about the different
systems in the body and its organ. After which, the teacher presented the video and asked what they
have learned from the video. Students were able to evaluate their answers in the previous activity after
watching the video.

This lesson plan was anchored in Constructivism. Constructivism is a student centered

philosophy that emphasizes hands on learning and students actively participating in lessons.
Constructivists believe that students should be able to discover lessons on their own through hands on
activity because it is the most effect way of learning and is considered true learning.
