Topic: Mammals

Grade Level: 2nd Grade

Success Criteria/Objectives: I can...understand what makes mammals different from other
animals.
Welcome and Introduction I have a welcome slide to begin the lesson
presentation. Then, I have two slides
afterwards that introduce the topic of the
lesson – which is mammals.
Lesson/Activity I started with a “collaborate board” about
what students already know about mammals.
Then I had different slides dedicated to
mammal facts and the various kinds of
mammals.
Active Exploration and Application I included a “Time to Climb” which is a quiz-
type game embedded into my Nearpod
presentation. This game covered a few pieces
of information from the lesson.
Closing/Reflection My lesson closes with another “collaborate
board.” This one asked the students to write
about something they learned/found
interesting from the lesson. After this, there is
a final slide that says, “great job!”
