Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

Under the Republic Act No. 8293, it refers to the legal rights given to the inventor or creator to protect
his invention or creation for a certain period of time. These legal rights confer an exclusive right to the
inventor/creator or his assignee to fully utilize his invention/creation for a given period of time.

Forms of IPR
 COPYRIGHTS – Save your exclusive creations and copyrights are the rights which save your creations
from being stolen and reuse or reproduction for earning. These rights are for protections of films,
written, music, arts, etc.

Copyright Protects the Following Literacy and Artistic works

1. Books, pamphlets, articles, and other writings.


2. Illustrations, maps, plans, sketches, charts, drawings
3. Works of drawing, painting, architecture, models, or designs for works of art
4. Musical compositions, with or without words

 PATENT – Save your inventions whenever a person do a new inventions the chances of stealing of
his inventions are more so to protect his or her Inventions comes under this right. It includes just like
you have invent a machine or something in the field of science.
 TRADEMARK - Save your logos a company or a business has its own logo which becomes the identity
of that company, if it is stolen and used by someone else then the chances of loss in the business
increases. To protect this trademark rights are here.
 SERVICE MARK – A service mark is a brand name or logo that identifies a business. Service marks can
consist of words, phrases, symbols, designs, or some combination of these elements, which are all a
form of intellectual property. Service marks identify a brand and the quality associated with it.
 ART PLAGIARISM - Art plagiarism is more than just copying a piece of art found online or otherwise.
Plagiarists can reproduce sketches, photos, sculptures, and paintings without crediting the original
creator, and posting these works online with a filter or a few modifications still counts as plagiarism.

Art theft is the provable stealing and publishing of someone else’s work as your own
without consent from the original artist.

 Create your own logo and make a sketch of possible cellphone designs. Draw it to short
bond paper and design using your own creativity.
