Stephen E. Lucas defines conversational quality as the idea that “no matter
how many times a speech has been rehearsed, it still sounds spontaneous”

Eye Contact
Eye contact is a speaker’s ability to have visual contact with everyone in the
audience. Your audience should feel that you’re speaking to them, not
simply uttering main and supporting points.
Sustained eye contact with your audience is one of the most important tools
toward effective delivery. O’Hair, Stewart, and Rubenstein note that eye
contact is mandatory for speakers to establish a good relationship with an
audience (O’Hair, Stewart, & Rubenstein, 2001).

One of the biggest mistakes novice public speakers make is to use the same
gesture over and over again during a speech. While you don’t want your
gestures to look fake, you should be careful to include a variety of different
nonverbal components while speaking. You should make sure that your face,
body, and words are all working in conjunction with each other to support
your message.
