How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:
☐ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the student and mostly
practice based.
☒ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic of
learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates
the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.
☒ Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to
demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared outside of the classroom.
(Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing

Lesson idea implementation:
Students will be in small groups of 3 or 4. Each student will have the opportunity to discuss a
professional adult that can help with health and wellness such as a doctor, police officer, family
member, or a nurse. Students will first be shown a video that they will have access to at any time
that explains trusted professionals to speak with about your health and how they can assist your
well-being. Students will use the technology by creating a podcast giving two reasons why to use
trusted professionals. The teacher will guide the students and model how to use the Anchor
platform. Students will be given a 30-minute rotation to write out a skit, record their information
and play it for their peers at the end of the lesson.
Managing student learning: I believe this lesson will shift the behavior of students to active learners.
Students will be engaged and excited to learn something new and be able to express their
learning through audio along with their peers. Students will have a 30-minute time limit and turn in a
written script for the teacher to see target goals being met.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: Anchor is a technology tool supports and enhances
the learning of students because it exposes them to a new way to express their knowledge. Some
students may not feel confident with speaking in front of a crowd or may need more support in their
writing so using an audio format gives everyone an opportunity to express themselves. This is
multiple means of engagement
Reflection: The lesson with impact student learning for the rest of their lives. Students will be able
to learn a new platform that they can use for the rest of their life. I look forward to seeing
students experiment with this tool. Being engaged and helping one another create a fun and inviting
presentation.
