PHASES OF THE MOON

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of 50 minutes, 100% of the learners will be able to:

1. Identify which phases of the moon occurs in various locations in its orbit around Earth.
2. Appreciate the importance of the moon to mankind and environment.
3. Match the description to the correct moon phases.

These words are related to our topic for this morning.
Today , we will discussed about the phases of the moon. But first,
what is moon?

 A moon is a natural satellite of the earth.
 It revolves around the earth in a fixed orbit.

For us to know more about the phases of the moon, lets watch a
video and listen carefully to learn more.

NEW MOON- The moon is between the sun and the earth.(The 7. Third/last quarter

WAXING CRESCENT-getting brighter and more of it is
illuminated & visible.
FIRST QUARTER-Half of the lighted side of the moon.
WAXING GIBBOUS- more than half of its sunlit side can be
seen.
FULL MOON- whole lighted side of the moon. It appears at an
entire circle in the sky.
WANING GIBBOUS- its illuminated side is starting to shrink
from a full moon.
THIRD QUARTER/LAST QUARTER- half of the moon lighted
part.
WANING CRESCENT- it start to see less and less of the moon.
