Intensifiers
Meaning Intensifiers are words that are added before an adjective to
make it stronger. (Intensifier + adjective of quality)
Use To talk about extremes.
To enhance the meaning of an adjective.
To emphasize a point.
To sound really impressive.
Examples 1.The lecture was really boring.
2a.That shop assistant was rude.
2b.That shop assistant was really rude.
2c.That shop assistant was extremely rude.
Function To intensify the adjective to make the meaning stronger. This
introduces more emotion and feeling into your English
