TECHNOLOGY and LIVELIHOOD EDUCATION
Grade 8
Time: 10:00-11:00 AM – 1:00–2:00 PM
I- Objectives:
At the end of the discussion, students are expected to:
a. identify the types of feeds;
b. create a flow chart on the types of feeds; and
c. cite the importance of learning the type of feeds in swine production.
B. Analysis: After the discussion on the types of feeds in swine production, the
teacher will have a recap on the facts.

An Individual Activity
In a one (1) whole sheet of paper or bond paper
The students will create a flow chart on types of feeds in swine production.
The teacher will use the following rubric to rate.
The rubric will be discussed first by the teacher before each student proceeds
to the activity.
This activity will be a total of thirty (30) points.
The students will be given thirty-five (35) minutes to finish the activity

Evaluation 1
The teacher will conduct a short quiz.
It will be ten (10) items only.
Using one-fourth (¼) sheet of paper.
To check, students will exchange paper with their seatmate.
Grower Feed 1. Feed given to 10 to 20 kgs piglets after the pre-starter feed.
Finisher Feed2. Feed given up to 80 to 90 kgs ready for the market.
__Swine_____ 3. Collective term used to denote hog or pig.
__Feeds______4. Food eaten by animals to ensure good production
Starter Feed 5. Feed given to 10 to 20 kgs piglets after the pre-starter feed.
___Ration____6. Feeds given to the animal for a day by estimation or calculation

VI- Valuing:
The teacher will recapitulate the topic by asking the learners with the following
questions:
d. If you were to feed your pigs, which do you prefer to adapt, commercialize or
organic?
VII- Assignment:
