I- Objectives:
At the end of the discussion, students are expected to:
a. identify the space requirements for broilers;
b. perform estimation and calculation; and
c. cite the importance of learning the space requirements in poultry production.

II- Subject Matter:

Topic: ANIMAL PRODUCTION
Sub Topic: Estimation and calculation in poultry production
How to identify the procedures in problem solving.
How to identify basic mathematical operations
Reference: Learning Module pages 43-44
Curriculum Guide pages 14
Additional Information: Google, Youtube
Performance Standards:
Able to identify job requirements.
Able to estimate quantities of materials and resources required to complete a
work task.
Materials: Visual Aid, Printed Materials

III- Routinary Activities:

Prayer
Greetings
Cleanliness and Orderliness
Checking of Attendance

IV- Lesson Proper:

Lesson Recall: Before presenting the new lesson to the students, the teacher will
ask students to recall the lesson discussed last meeting on the methods of feeding
in swine production.
Activity: After receiving their responses, the teacher will begin the lesson with a
game called Identify Me. The several pictures associated are included with their new
lesson Animal Production (broilers space requirements in poultry production).
A. Abstraction: Students are to find the pictures that are connected with animal
production and give brief definition why it is related to animal production.
a. After the activity, present to the class their newest lesson in TLE, animal
production about broilers space requirements in poultry production.
b. Define the term and ask students what comes into their mind when they hear the
word broilers space requirement.
c. Present the broilers space in poultry production.

Unlocking of Difficulties

Poultry – feathered animals such as chickens, ducks, geese, etc.

Broiler – chicken intended for meat purposes.
Chick – a young bird, especially one newly hatched.
Space – an empty area that is available to be used.
Feeding - the act or process of eating or being fed.
Watering space – water area for drinking.
Temperature – refers to the degree of hotness and coldness.
Ration - - feeds given to the animal for a day by estimation or calculation.

B. Analysis: After the discussion on the types of feeds in poultry production, the
teacher will have a recap on the facts.
1. Give the recommended rations of the following?
a. Day old to 6 weeks chick ____________
b. 6-14 weeks chicks ___________________
c. 14-20 weeks chicks __________________

2. Why does poultry production need adequate feeding?

V- Application
Directions: Perform estimation and calculation.

The teacher group the class into six (6) groups.

Each group will have to perform estimation and calculations.
The teacher will use the following rubric to rate each group.
The rubric will be discussed first by the teacher before each student proceeds
to the activity.
This activity will be a total of thirty (30) points.
The students will be given ample time to finish the activity.
