NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE RECENTLY CONCLUDED DIVISION WEBINAR


OF TEACHERS ON CROSS SPECIALIZATION IN EARLY GRADE SCIENCE

Day 3 of 5 started at 8:00 AM with an MOL c/o Tandag 2 district led by Mr. Dennis
Gerodias. The Tandag 2 teacher-participants, through a representative, recapitulated the
discussions from the Day 2 sessions, followed by an energizer and a few reminders and
encouragement, as well as webinar etiquettes by the session facilitator, Mrs. Evelyn B.
Juban.
The onset of session 9 proper started at around 8:15 in the morning with the first
speaker, Mrs. Leilanie Grace A. Abuloc, JPENHS-Science Teacher. She activated the
teacher’s key knowledge in the biology domain, which focused on one of the least-learned
competencies in Grade 3: The Circle of Life, targeting the main topic of heredity. Mrs. Abuloc
further elaborated on the content and performance standards anchored on MELC in the said
competency. She also comprehensively gave a series of activities and guided questions for
the elementary teacher-participants to employ in their respective classes.
Following that was another activation of science key concept under the same domain
in Biology, which was Session 10: Blossoming Flora by Mr. Clydon Jessie D. Renquillo,
TNSHS-Science teacher. He emphasized the Grade 5 least-learned competency about
describing the modes of reproduction in flowering and non-flowering plants. He also
presented various activities suited to the said topic. The morning session ended at 11: 45
AM.
Mr. Clydon Jessie D. Renquillo presented Session 11: GGSS (Going, Going, Soft
and Steady). He comprehensively lectured on the Grade 6 least-learned competency of
distinguishing the characteristics of vertebrates and invertebrates, in which teacher-
participants were shown pictures of animals and asked to classify each animal. Mrs. Aeve
Mae B. Lanaja then gave a lecture on Session 12: Use of Light, Sound, Heat, and Electricity,
which is also one of the least-learned competencies in elementary science. Day 3 ended at
exactly 5:00 in the afternoon.
