1. INTRODUCTION
This method of statement describes the general guideline and arrangement for
the methodology and sequence for the drainage works within the proposed
project 4.99MWAC Ground Mounted Solar Panel at JLN Tiku Kubota Tawau
Sabah. This work statement is to outline the sequence of activities, method and
resources for the work.

2. SCOPE OF WORKS
Generally the sequence of works shall setting out, excavation work, installation
work and testing.

Machinery and equipment involved in this work are as follow;


 Backhoe
 Hand tools such as shovel & scope & measuring tape.
 Dumpy level

3. EMPLOYEES AND MANPOWER INVOLVE


Employees and manpower involve for this work comprises as below;
 Machinery Operator
 Site Engineer
 Site Supervisor
 General Workers

4. MATERIALS AND TOOLS


 Ready-Mixed Concrete G25 or higher.
 600mm, 900mm, 1800mm Concrete Culvert
 BRC reinforcement, formwork for drainage

5. WORK SEQUENCES
5.1 PREMILIMINARY WORKS
 Permit to Work (PTW) shall be submitted and approved before starting
the work.
 PTW shall be kept by supervisor or placed on site.

5.2 SURVEY AND SETTING OUT


 The locations and level of the drainage system to the dimensions and
levels shown on the construction drawings shall be set out first.
 Surveyors shall determine the location of the sumps.

5.3 EXCAVATION WORKS


 The excavation works shall be carried out in straight line based on the
construction drawings.
 Reusable excavated materials shall be set aside for reinstatement.
 Trench width shall be kept at minimum.
 The trench’s depth shall be excavated 50mm extra to pour lean concrete.
 Any unsuitable material shall be removed and replaced with suitable
materials.

5.4 DRAIN INSTALLATION WORKS


 Two types of drain shall be constructed; Concrete drain and Earth drain
 50mm lean concrete shall be laid.
 The concrete shall be fully laid
 All drains shall be constructed true to line and level as indicated on the drawings.
 Each drains shall be checked for correct position before preparing
formwork and installing rebar
 Proper concreting method must be executed such as using vibrator
machine.
 Branches and drain line connections for future use shall be sealed off with
proper stoppers, to prevent the ingress of extraneous matter.
 Backfilling works shall not commence until the system has been
successfully tested and accepted. This shall be carried out in sections as
work proceeds.
 The backfill in trenches crossing permanent roads shall be thoroughly
compacted.
 Sump location and construction works shall be based on the construction
drawings.
 Grating shall be installed to cover the top of the sump.

5.5 TESTING
 All testing shall be carried out based on the approved Inspection Test Plan
(ITP) or official request from Ditrolic Sdn Bhd.

6. SAFETY ASPECTS
 All staffs and workers shall go through safety induction before joining the
construction work.
 Safety forms shall be submitted and approved before the workers and
staffs can start working.
 All staff and workers shall wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment
(PPE) once they entered the site, unless they are in the PPE free zone.
 Safety toolbox meeting shall be held at least 3 times per week.
 Site Supervisor shall ensure that the workers wear all safety equipment
provided.
 Proper and adequate provision of temporary signage’s and barricades at
diversions and temporary haul road as necessary

 Wear eye protection when using hand/power tools which cause


flying debris.
 Eye wash to be immediately available
Eye injury;
Use of hand and power tools –  Tools must be in good condition and used for their intended purpose;
Lacerations and hand injuries
General  Familiarize workers with tool operation.
 De-energize power equipment prior to changing bits or blades.
 Wear appropriate hand protection; observe good work practices in
ensuring that work gloves are in good condition.
