Reflection on Post Evaluation During the Conduct of 2020 Virtual Graduation and
Moving up Ceremony on June 29, 2021
Graduation is in fact a very special day to all graduates. Every graduate wishes to
enter the graduation hall during the commencement exercises together with their parents with
a feeling of excitement and relief and with a sweet smile on their faces which connote a sign
of victory, a triumph, an achievement, and a trophy of success.
Face to face graduation is not allowed during this time of pandemic. So it is very
frustrating on the part of the graduates but they can’t do otherwise but to accept a “Virtual
Graduation” rather than to push through with it. Virtual Graduation is somewhat a trend
during this time of Covid-19. So as to the ALS Gradution of 2020 completers, it was
conducted through Virtual Graduation on June 28, 2021.
ALS Virtual Graduation and Moving Up Ceremony of SDO Tabuk City was
conducted on June 28, 2021. I was indeed amazed because everything was really organized.
A snappy salute to those who were behind the success of the said virtual graduation of 2020
ALS completers; however, 7 among the 38 Junior high school completers of Nambaran
Community Learning Center were not included in the video. Not only completers from
Nambaran CLC but to other Community Learning Centers as well. Those completers were
complaining because they were expecting to see their faces during the virtual graduation but
unfortunately they were not included in the video. So, they felt as if they did not graduate. As
an Implementer of those completers, I felt so bad and so sad for them.
During the making of the video, only few Implementers were working, rushing to
finish it the day before the Moving Up Ceremony. They said they were hard up in the
making of the video since some of the implementers did not submit their completers’ pictures
on time. Ms. Aivory said, she was working at midnight editing those pictures and everything
about the virtual moving up so some of the completers were missed because she was sleepy
and tired while working on it.
I firmly believe in the famous line dropped by the English poet, John Donne “No Man
Is an Island”; and the saying that “Two heads are better than one”. Two people thinking
together can come up with better solutions. More people working together will yield better
results. In order to arrive at a successful output, everybody must have worked and sacrificed
in the preparation of the ALS Virtual Graduation and Moving Up Ceremony. It doesn’t mean
that all Implementers must have to flock in in the making, submitting the required datas
earlier than the required submission dates is in fact a big deal. I myself have submitted my
completers’ pictures already edited with blue background to help Ms. Aivory Klench S.
Maga-ao for editing pictures of more than 600 completers.
Moreover, videos must have been previewed before the live Virtual Graduation Day
to check whatever the lacking of it or whatever needs to be edited. Anyways, it was the first
Virtual Graduation that the SDO Tabuk City has conducted, so it might be used as reflector to
other schools that are planning to have virtual graduation and for the next ALS Virtual
Graduation.
To conclude working in unity is what ALS Implementers of SDO Tabuk City need at
all costs. Each and every Implementer must have to go through all the blood, sweat, and tears
to achieve success. Most of all, an unconditional sacrifice and committed service to the ALS
learners for positive and meaningful success.
